Rafah Offensive
On 6 May 2024, Israel began a military offensive in and around the city of Rafah as part of Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip (2023–present), its invasion of the Gaza Strip during the Israel–Hamas war. Before the offensive, about 1.4 million displaced Palestinians from elsewhere in the Gaza Strip had sought shelter in Rafah. In February, Israel announced its intent to invade in order to eliminate Hamas brigades it said were in the city. In early May, as ceasefire negotiations stalled, Israel prepared for an operation and ordered the Gaza Strip evacuations#Evacuation of Rafah, evacuation of eastern Rafah. On 6 May, Hamas accepted a ceasefire deal proposed by Egypt and Qatar, but Israel's war cabinet unanimously rejected it as "far from Israel's necessary demands", and indicated it would continue its operation. Rafah Governorate
The Rafah Governorate ( ar, محافظة رفح ') is a Governorate of Palestine in the southernmost portion of the Gaza Strip. Its district capital or ''muhfaza'' is the city of Rafah located on the border with Egypt. Granite Battalion
The 932nd "Granite" Battalion is part of the Israeli Defense Force's Nahal Brigade. History Battalion 932 was established in June 1976 and until Operation Peace for Galilee functioned as a routine security battalion belonging to Central Command. Its main area of activity before the First Lebanon War was the northern sector of the Jordanian border with the West Bank in the Jordan Valley, replacing Sayeret Haruv which had been disbanded. It was based in Camp Gadi, next to Masua, and manned mainly by Nahal soldiers. During the First Lebanon War the battalion participated in the battle for Ein Zahlat against Syrian commandos and a Syrian armored battalion. Gadsar Nahal
Reconnaissance Battalion 934 or Gadsar Nahal is the special forces unit or Reconnaissance battalion of the Nahal Brigade. The battalion is divided into three companies: the Sayeret/Palsar (Reconnaissance Company), the Palhan (Engineering and Demolitions Company), and the Palnat/Orev (Anti-tank Company). Training consists of 4 months boot camp followed by 4 months advanced training and then an additional 4 to 5 months l of specialised training. The unit operates on a rotation of 4 months of training followed by 4 months of deployment. The training is conducted at the unit's headquarters, Mahane 21, while security deployment is conducted in the West Bank areas of Jenin and Nablus. Nahal Brigade

Bislamach Brigade
The School for Infantry Corps Professions and Squad Commanders (Hebrew: ''Beit HaSefer LiMfakdei Kitot UMiktzo'ot Heil HaRaglim'', best known by its acronym Bislamach) is the Israel Defense Forces body responsible for the training of all Infantry Corps squad commanders and platoon sergeants. The 401st "Iron Tracks" Brigade ( he, עקבות הברזל, ''Ikvot HaBarzel'') is an Armored Brigade in the 162nd Division (IDF), 162nd Division of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF).
