Rafael Figueroa
Rafael Alejandro Figueroa Gómez (born 14 March 1983) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career With more than 100 caps in First Division, one has become an unquestionable player. Without being a virtuoso he is highly effective and is a fundamental piece of the remaining of Santos Laguna in Primera División de México, as well as of the first place and second place of the Apertura 2007 and Clausura 2008 respectively. Rafa Figueroa passed a long process in the inferior divisions and the First Division, with Estudiantes de Santander in 2003 - 2004 and With Leon in 2004–2005 to make debut finally the 20 of August 2005 in Culiacán, game that Santos won 3–0. The Copa MX (formerly called Copa Tower Monterrey, Copa Eliminatoria, Copa México and Copa Corona MX (for sponsorship reasons)) was a Mexican football cup competition that was established in 1907. After a lengthy hiatus that began in 1997, it was restored in 2012. On early editions of the cup, it consisted of both professional and amateur stages. It was the first official tournament that included teams from different parts of Mexico and was considered a prestigious tournament, especially during its earlier years of existence. The original purpose of the competition was to determine a national champion, thus distinguishing it from the local league championship.
