Rafael Bracero
Rafael Bracero Torres (born 1940 in Santurce, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican sportscaster. Bracero graduated from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez then known as ''Colegio de Artes Mecánicas'' (College of Arts and Mechanical Arts - ''CAAM'' in Spanish) with a degree in civil engineering, and then he joined Puerto Rico's Perez Perry ''Channel 11'' to cover sports as their main reporter. The ''Perez Perry Network'' soon went bankrupt and then Bracero became the night sportscaster on WAPA-TV, a position in which he performed at for two years and a half. At WAPA TV, their night news edition sportscasters were considered by WAPA executives as being second string to their afternoon news edition colleagues, so Bracero would, for those two years and a half, perform under the shadow of Luis Rigual, WAPAs afternoon sportscaster. Santurce, Puerto Rico
Santurce (, from the Basque '' Santurtzi'' which means Saint George) is a barrio or district in the municipality of San Juan. Its population in 2020 was 69,469. It is also the biggest and most populated of all the barrios in the capital city with a bigger population than most municipalities of Puerto Rico and one of the most densely populated areas of the island (13,257.4 persons per square mile). Edwin "Chapo" Rosario Rivera (; March 15, 1963 – December 1, 1997) was a Puerto Rican professional boxer who competed from 1979 to 1997. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the WBC lightweight title from 1983 to 1984, the WBA lightweight title twice between 1986 and 1990, and the WBA super lightweight title from 1991 to 1992. Hector Vazquez Muñiz is a Puerto Rican television sportscaster and journalist and radio programs producer. Muñiz is the sports anchorman at Telemundo Puerto Rico's "Telenoticias Fin de Semana" ("Television News Weekend Edition"), which is transmitted on weekend days at 5 PM and 10 PM. A controversial host, he has been accused, among other things, of being racist. He also has a radio talk show named "A Swing Completo con Vazquez Muñiz". Muñiz covers association football and volleyball games on Puerto Rican television, but he is best known for his coverage of baseball, and some of his best-known phrases are "Y se va, y se va, y se fue!" ("It's going! it's going! it's gone!", which he pronounces similar to Chris Berman's phrase of "Back, back, back, gone!") whenever someone hits a home-run, and "Y se les esta haciendo tarde!" Ramiro Martinez (August 23, 1923 – July 8, 2015) was a Cuban born sportscaster who settled in Puerto Rico, where he hosted, at various times, television and radio shows. Martinez was elected to the Puerto Rican Sports Hall of Fame in 2009. Biography Ramiro Martinez left Cuba in 1945 and moved to New York, New York, where he began broadcasting Major League Baseball games to a number of Hispanic countries. At that era, he worked alongside Argentine baseball commentator and friend Eloy Canel. During this period also, he authored columns for 12 newspapers and 3 magazines. In 1955, Ramirez established himself in Puerto Rico (some unreferenced sources claim he lived in Spain first). Juan Ramón Abrams Jr, better known as Junior Abrams (born April 25, 1956 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican television and radio sportscaster, actor and show host. Ernesto Diaz Gonzalez (born 1939) (in Spanish) is a Puerto Rican sportscaster who has worked since 1962 on Puerto Rican television. Diaz Gonzalez has narrated various sports such as baseball and boxing, but he is better known for his narration of BSN and Puerto Rican men's national team basketball games.
