Rafael Bado
Rafael Jesús Bado Blanco (born 30 December 1984) is a Spanish-Gibraltarian former footballer who plays for Tercera Andaluza Cádiz side AD Taraguilla, and formerly represented the Gibraltar national team, as a central midfielder. From 2016 to 2018 he served as player-manager of Lions Gibraltar. Club career Early career in Spain Born and raised in Spain, Bado spent the majority of his career playing in the lower divisions of Spanish football, beginning his career at UD Tesorillo. Spending the majority of his time at amateur clubs on the border between Spain and Gibraltar such as Atlético Zabal in 2008, he most notably spent time at Xerez's B team along with two spells with UD Los Barrios, once on loan from his first club UD Tesorillo in 2005, and again returning to them in 2009 as they finished third in the 2009–10 Tercera División, scoring twice in 29 games as they narrowly missed out on promotion to the third tier of Spanish football. La Línea De La Concepción
La Línea de la Concepción (, more often referred to as La Línea) is a municipality of Spain belonging to the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. The city lies on the sandy isthmus which is part of the eastern flank of the Bay of Gibraltar, and it limits with the Gibraltar–Spain border to the south. La Línea has close economic and social links with the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. 2016–17 Gibraltar Premier Division
The 2016–17 Gibraltar Premier Division (known as the Argus Insurance Premier Division for sponsorship reasons) was the 118th season of the national amateur and semi-professional football league in Gibraltar since its establishment - the highest level of football in Gibraltar. The league was contested by ten clubs, the top eight clubs from last season and two promoted clubs from 2015–16 Gibraltar Second Division. Lincoln Red Imps were the reigning champions, sealing a record 22nd title last season. The season began on 21 September 2016 and ended on 22 May 2017. The UEFA Euro 2016 qualifying Group D was one of the nine groups to decide which teams would qualify for the UEFA Euro 2016 finals tournament. The Gibraltar Football Association or also Gibraltar FA (GFA) is the governing body for Gibraltarian football and futsal. It was formed as the ''Gibraltar Civilian Football Association'' in 1895, changing to its current name in later years. It is one of the oldest football associations in the world. From October 2012, the GFA were provisional members of UEFA and the Gibraltar national futsal team, under-19 and under-17 representative teams participated in the 2013/14 UEFA season competitions. 2017 Rock Cup
The 2017 Rock Cup was a single-leg knockout tournament played by clubs from Gibraltar. This year's version of the Rock Cup was sponsored by Gibtelecom, and was known as the Gibtelecom Rock Cup for sponsorship purposes. The winner of this competition (Europa) qualified for the 2017–18 Europa League. Since they won the 2016–17 Gibraltar Premier Division, the spot reserved for the cup winner went to the third place team from the league instead. David Wilson (Scottish Football Manager)
David Wilson (born 22 February 1974) is a Scottish football manager who is currently U23 coach for St Joseph's in the Gibraltar Intermediate League. From April 2013 to March 2015, he served as an assistant manager of the national team under head coach Allen Bula and held the position when the Gibraltar Football Association (GFA) was admitted to UEFA in May 2013. He has also managed Lions Gibraltar, Bruno's Magpies and Manchester 62. Jeff Wood (footballer)
Jeffrey Reginald Wood (born 4 February 1954) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He is currently the head of coaching for Europa, and was also goalkeeping coach for the Wales U19 and Wales U21 teams. Career Playing After being released as a youth player by Colchester United, Wood started his professional career at Charlton Athletic, spending seven seasons at the club and winning promotion to the Second Division in the 1980–81 season, before moving back to Colchester for one season. He left without making an appearance, having been kept out of the team by Mike Walker, and moved to Finnish club HJK Helsinki in 1982.
