Rafa (footballer, Born 1985)
Rafael López Gómez (; born 9 April 1985), commonly known as Rafa, is a Spanish professional footballer who plays mainly as a central defender. Club career Rafa was born in Peñafiel, Province of Valladolid, Castile and León. A product of Real Valladolid's youth system, he made his debut with the first team on 8 February 2004 in a 0–2 away defeat against RCD Espanyol, but only managed, however, six appearances with the main squad over his first two professional seasons. After a season-long loan at SD Eibar in the second division, Rafa returned to help Valladolid regain their La Liga status in 2007. He played 21 league matches in the following campaign. Rafa agreed to join Getafe CF on a Bosman transfer in early July 2008. He would spend most of his first year as left back, replacing out-of-form Lucas Licht who was sold shortly after. Peñafiel, Spain
Peñafiel is a town in the Valladolid Province and the greater autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is best known for the Peñafiel Castle and for its medieval square used for bullfights and named " Plaza del Coso" (English: "Bullring Square"). The square is surrounded by private homes, but since medieval times the rights to use their windows, balconies and doorways during bullfights are owned by the town (see easement), which auctions them to the highest bidders. The town is full of deep excavated caveswhich were traditionally used to store the wine because of the constant temperature they kept all year around. These caves have chimney vents for ventilation and to evacuate the gases generated by the fermentation of the wine. These chimney vents dot the landscape in and around the town and the castle. The UEFA Europa League (abbreviated as UEL, or sometimes, UEFA EL), formerly the UEFA Cup, is an annual football club competition organised since 1971 by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) for eligible European football clubs. The 2010–11 UEFA Europa League was the second season of the UEFA Europa League, Europe's secondary club football tournament organised by UEFA, and the 40th edition overall including its predecessor, the UEFA Cup. Pedro Mario Álvarez Abrante (born 2 February 1982), commonly known as Mario, is a Spanish retired professional footballer as a central defender. Club career Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, Mario started his senior career with Atlético Madrid, but could only represent its C and B-teams. In summer 2001 he signed for Real Valladolid, making his La Liga debut in the 2001–02 season, playing in 17 games and repeating the feat the following campaign, still in the top flight. Lucas Matías Licht (born 6 April 1981) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays for Club Atlético Villa San Carlos mainly as a left-back but also as a left winger. Club career Born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Licht grew up in the youth academy of Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, starting as a midfielder and making his professional debut in 2001.
