Rae Hendrie
Rae Hendrie (born 30 November 1976, Selkirk) is a Scottish actress known for her role as Jess Mackenzie in the BBC TV series '' Monarch of the Glen''. As a child, she sang in classical concerts. She later sang in her role on Monarch of the Glen. Prior to being cast in Monarch, Rae was a London classroom assistant working with children with special education needs. She also appeared in an episode of ''Taggart'' in 2002, playing Sadie McPhail, and in 2006 had a role in ''EastEnders'' playing Briony Campbell. Selkirk, Scottish Borders
Selkirk is a town and historic royal burgh in the Scottish Borders council district of southeastern Scotland. It lies on the Ettrick Water, a tributary of the River Tweed. The people of the town are known as Souters, which means cobblers (shoe makers and menders). At the time of the 2011 census, Selkirk's population was 5,784. History Selkirk was formerly the county town of Selkirkshire. Selkirk is one of the oldest Royal Burghs in Scotland and is the site of the earliest settlements in what is now the Scottish Borders. The town's name means "church by the hall" from the Old English ''sele'' ("hall" or "manor") and ''cirice'' ("church"). There were five series of the drama, shown on BBC One. The first two were composed of individual stories. Series three, four and five were each single stories composed over multiple episodes.
