Radio UTD
Radio UTD is the student-run, internet-only radio station of the University of Texas at Dallas located in Richardson, TX. Radio UTD streams music twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, with live shows hosted by DJs broadcast Sunday-Friday, 10am-midnight. The station employs seven student managers and is home to roughly 30 student volunteer DJs. Though DJs must be affiliated with UTD as students, staff, or faculty, they can come from any major or department. Format Radio UTD is a freeform station, meaning each DJ is allowed to choose the content of his or her own show regardless of genre, provided the show idea is approved by management. However, some basic criteria apply to all shows. "Music shows" are generally 3-hours-long, while talk, sports, and news shows are generally 1-hour-long. Xiu Xiu
Xiu Xiu ( ) is an American experimental band, formed in 2002 by singer-songwriter Jamie Stewart in San Jose, California. Currently, the line-up consists of Stewart (the only constant member since formation) and Angela Seo. The band's name comes from the film '' Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl'', which has influenced the sound of their music, according to Stewart. Xiu Xiu released their first two albums, ''Knife Play'' (2002) and ''A Promise'' (2003) on 5 Rue Christine to positive critical reception. Anamanaguchi
Anamanaguchi is an American chiptune-based pop and rock band from New York City. The band has four members: lead songwriters and guitarists Peter Berkman and Ary Warnaar, bassist James DeVito, and drummer Luke Silas. Anamanaguchi combines digital electronic sounds such as those seen in chiptune and bitpop with traditional band instrumentation. As with other chiptune artists, they have created music using video game hardware from the mid- to late 1980s: namely a NES and a Game Boy. The origin of the band's name is unclear. In one interview, Berkman said the name "Anamanaguchi" came about from a member in one of his former bands pronouncing gibberish in the style of Jabba the Hutt. Joseph Francis Lally (born December 3, 1963) is an American bassist, vocalist and record label owner, best known for his work with Fugazi. Biography Lally was born in Silver Spring, Maryland. Fugazi Joe Lally formed Fugazi with Ian MacKaye in 1987. He remained as the group's bassist until their "indefinite hiatus" in 2003. Tolotta records Lally founded Tolotta Records (distributed through Dischord Records), which was active from 1994 until 2001, putting out notable releases by such artists as Dead Meadow, Spirit Caravan, Stinking Lizaveta & Orthrelm. Casiotone for the Painfully Alone (CFTPA) was the musical solo-project of musician Owen Ashworth (born April 22, 1977) of Redwood City, California. CFTPA was active from 1997 to 2010, and released five studio albums, alongside numerous other releases. CFTPA toured with other indie artists such as The Donkeys, Papercuts, P:ano, The Dead Science, David Bazan, The Rapture, and Xiu Xiu. Michael James Owen Pallett (born September 7, 1979) is a Canadian composer, violinist, keyboardist, and vocalist. Under their erstwhile moniker of Final Fantasy, Pallett won the 2006 Polaris Music Prize for the album ''He Poos Clouds''.
