Racim Benyahia
Benyahia Racim Bey ( ar, بن يحيى رسيم باي; Born in Constantine, Algeria, in 1987) is an Algerian Digital Illustrator and Cartoonist. Racim Benyahia is the winner of the 1st Prize for the ''Best Poster'' at the 5th International Festival of Comics of Algeria (2012). He was also awarded the 3rd Prize at the 4th version of the same international festival in 2011. "Constantine 1836" In 2017, at the "Maghreb des Livres" in Paris, an event of which he designed the official poster, Racim Benyahia presented his first comic book, "''Constantine 1836''" (Dalimen Editions, 2016), illustrating the first Battle of Constantine in 1836 featuring the resistance of Ahmed Bey against the colonial armies led by the Maréchal Clausel. The author insisted on the fact that although he added a personal touch, he remained as "faithful" as possible to the historical records related to this major battle in Algerian-French history. Ahmed Bey Ben Mohamed Chérif
Ahmed Bey ben Mohamed Sherif, also known as Ahmed Bey or Hadj Ahmed Bey ( ar, الحاج أحمد باي) (c. 1784 - c. 1850) was the last Bey of Constantine, in the Regency of Algiers, ruling from 1826 to 1848. He was the successor of Mohamed Menamenni Bey ben Khan. As head of state, he led the local population in a fierce resistance to the French occupation forces. With the position vacant, in 1833 he adopted the title of the leader of Algeria, and the Dey in exile، although this wasn't recognized by any other countries. In 1837 Constantine was taken by the French after an intense siege. In 1837 the territory was conquered by the French. He retreated into the Aurès Mountains from where he continued to wage a sort of Low-intensity conflict using the tribes still loyal to him until he capitulated in 1848. He is a notable alumnus of the ''École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts'' of Paris, where as a student in the late 1960s he played an instrumental role in successfully bringing French sculptor César Baldaccini as a Professor there, of whom he was to become a distinguished disciple and protégé. Samta Benyahia ( ar, صامته بن يحيى) born in Constantine, Algeria, in 1950, is an Algerian French artist, known for her Arab Berber Andalusian geometrical patterns and rosaceae, called ''fatima''.
