Rachel Yeoh Li Wen
Rachel Yeoh Li Wen (born 30 December 1998) is a Malaysian artistic gymnast. She is the 2021 Southeast Asian Games champion on the uneven bars and balance beam. Personal life Yeoh was born in Pulau Pinang in 1998. She graduated from University of Putra Malaysia with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics in 2022. Gymnastics career 2015–17 Yeoh competed at the 2015 Asian Championships where she helped Malaysia place fourth as a team. In 2017, while at a competition in Taiwan, Yeoh hyperextended her knee on vault which resulted in a posterior cruciate ligament injury on both knees. As a result, she had to miss the 2017 Southeast Asian Games. 2019 Yeoh returned to international competition in 2019 at the Stella Zakharova Cup. In May, she competed at the Zhaoqing Challenge Cup where she placed seventh on uneven bars. Farah Ann Abdul Hadi
Farah Ann binti Abdul Hadi (born 3 May 1994) is a Malaysian former artistic gymnast. Early life Farah was born in Subang Jaya, Selangor, to a Malaysian father, Abdul Hadi Ahmad and a Canadian mother, Kimberly Ann Gagnon on 3 May 1994. She is the second of three children and her sister, Katrina Ann, is a former national synchronized swimmer. Career She took up gymnastics at age three and started to compete at the national level competition Sukma Games. Farah Ann made her first appearance at the 2010 Games in New Delhi, scoring 12.050 points (floor exercise), 10.500 (beam) and 10.250 (uneven bars) as Malaysia finished fourth in the team event. Floor (gymnastics)
In gymnastics, the floor is a specially prepared exercise surface, which is considered an apparatus. It is used by both male and female gymnasts. The gymnastics event performed on the floor is called floor exercise. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is FX. A spring floor is used in all of gymnastics to provide more bounce, and also help prevent potential injuries to lower extremity joints of gymnasts due to the nature of the apparatus, which includes the repeated pounding required to train it. Cheerleading also uses spring floors for practice. The sprung floor used for indoor athletics, however, is designed to reduce bounce. Balance Beam
The balance beam is a rectangular artistic gymnastics apparatus and an event performed using the apparatus. Both the apparatus and the event are sometimes simply referred to as "beam". The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is BB. The beam is a small, thin beam which is typically raised from the floor on a leg or stand at both ends. Uneven Bars
The uneven bars or asymmetric bars is an artistic gymnastics apparatus. It is made of a steel frame. The bars are made of fiberglass with wood coating, or less commonly wood. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is UB or AB, and the apparatus and event are often referred to simply as "bars". The bars are placed at different heights and widths, allowing the gymnast to transition from bar to bar. A gymnast usually adds white chalk to the hands so that they can grip the bar better. The vault is an artistic gymnastics apparatus which gymnasts perform on, as well as the skill performed using that apparatus. Vaulting is also the action of performing a vault. Both male and female gymnasts perform the vault. The English abbreviation for the event in gymnastics scoring is VT. Aleah Finnegan (born January 4, 2003) is a Filipino-American artistic gymnast. She was a member of the United States' women's national gymnastics team from 2019–21 and was part of the team that won gold at the 2019 Pan American Games. She is currently representing the Philippines in international competition. She is the younger sister of 2012 Olympic alternate Sarah Finnegan.
