Rachael English
Rachael English (born 1969) is an Irish broadcaster and writer. Known for presenting ''Five Seven Live'' for six years, English has also presented other radio shows, such as ''RTÉ News at One'', ''Today with Pat Kenny'', ''The Marian Finucane Show'' and ''The Late Debate'' as well as a permanent presenter of ''Morning Ireland'' and ''Saturday View''. In 2011, Kim Bielenberg said in the ''Irish Independent'' that English would be "a natural replacement for Sean O'Rourke if he ever moved on". Early life Rachael English was born in Lincolnshire, where her mother, Ruth, was raised. She grew up in Shannon before going on to study Communication Studies at Dublin City University. Broadcasting career English debuted in 1989 as a presenter on a new radio station, Clare FM. She briefly worked for the public relations company owned by RTÉ broadcaster Bill O'Herlihy, then moved to RTÉ 2fm as a newsreader in August 1991. Rodney Rice (broadcaster)
Rodney Rice (12 October 1944 – 29 August 2021) was a Northern Ireland-born journalist and broadcaster who spent the majority of his career working with national broadcaster RTÉ. He was regarded as "a pioneering journalist." Career Born in Whiteabbey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, Rice studied political science at Trinity College Dublin in the Republic of Ireland. After a period working with the ''Belfast Telegraph'', he joined RTÉ in 1968 at the age of 24, where he first reported on the television current affairs programme ''7 Days''. In 1972, Rice moved to radio and two years later he began presenting ''Here and Now'', a daily mid-morning news and current affairs programme which he anchored for nine years. Marian Finucane
Marian Finucane ( ; 21 May 1950 – 2 January 2020) was an Irish broadcaster with Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). She began working with the national broadcaster in 1974, starting as a continuity announcer. She was the first presenter of ''Liveline'' and presented ''The Marian Finucane Show'' at weekend lunchtimes on RTÉ Radio 1 until her death. Career Marian Finucane was born in Dublin and educated at Scoil Chaitríona, Glasnevin. She studied architecture at Dublin College of Technology in Bolton Street. Finucane practised as an architect until 1974 when she joined RTÉ as a continuity announcer, having been recruited by Eoghan Harris.
