Rabindra Parishad
The Rabindra Parishad is a multi-purpose cultural centre on Beer Chand Patel Path in Patna, India. Overview Named after Rabindranath Tagore, it was established in 1948. The building contains a musical school (known as Geet Bhawan), a library with books on and by Tagore, and an auditorium, known as Rabindra Bhavan, which is an important theater in Patna where cultural and theatrical activities takes place. The programme of performances ranges from theatre, to live music, comedy, dance, visual art, spoken word and children's events. During 2008 to 2010, the theater went a major renovation and suspension. The overall renovation cost was estimated about 1.5 crore. After renovation, the auditorium's seating capacity was increased from 655 to 1,000 and the theater’s structure were improved, too. Rabindranath Tagore
Rabindranath Tagore (; bn, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর; 7 May 1861 – 7 August 1941) was a Bengali polymath who worked as a poet, writer, playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer and painter. He reshaped Bengali literature and music as well as Indian art with Contextual Modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Nitish Kumar
Nitish Kumar (born 1 March 1951) is an Indian politician, who is serving as Chief Minister of Bihar since 22 February 2015, having previous held the office from 2005 to 2014 and for a short period in 2000. The leader of the Janata Dal (United), previously he has also served as a Union Minister as the Samata Party member. ''Kalidas Rangalaya'' is one of Bihar's well-known theatres and a center for cultural performances in Patna, India. It is in the southeast corner of Gandhi Maidan and is run by the Bihar Art Theater which is the regional centre of International Theatre Institute, UNESCO, Paris. The Bharatiya Nritya Kala Mandir (meaning ''Indian Dance Arts Temple'') is an arts and crafts museum and a multi-purpose cultural centre located in Patna, in the capital of Bihar, India. History The foundation stone for the institution of art was laid on 8 December 1950. Established by Padmashri Hari Uppal, a master in Manipuri and Kathakali dance forms, it was officially opened in 1963. Premchand Rangshala
The Premchand Rangshala is a theater located in Patna, Bihar, India. It is situated in Rajendra Nagar. History It was set up by Government of Bihar in 1971 and among the biggest theatres in Eastern India. After 1972, no play was staged at the auditorium and in 1974 it was handed over to Central Reserve Police Force. In 1987, the auditorium was freed from CRPF after sustained pressure applied by the cultural activists. Thereafter, plays were staged at regular interval. In 2011, the theater went a major renovation and suspension. The overall renovation cost was estimated about 5.91 crore.
