The 2002 Philippine Team-Selecta Ice Cream is one of the two teams which sponsored a national pool that played in the 2002 PBA Governors' Cup as part of the league's continued support to the Philippine men's national basketball team that will compete in the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, South Korea South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK), is a country in East Asia, constituting the southern part of the Korea, Korean Peninsula and sharing a Korean Demilitarized Zone, land border with North Korea. Allan Caidic
Allan Vito Flores Caidic (born June 15, 1963) is a Filipino former professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association. He is considered by many to be the greatest shooter the country has ever produced, thus, earning the moniker, ''"The Triggerman"''. He played college hoops at the University of the East before joining the PBA in 1987, where he broke several Philippine and PBA all-time records—including the most points scored in a single game (79 points), the most three-point field goals made in a single game (17 triples; breaking his previous record of 15 triples), the most consecutive freethrows made (76), and the most three-point field goals in a career (1,242 triples; later surpassed by Jimmy Alapag). Jong Uichico
Joseph Enrique Uichico (born July 15, 1962), better known as Jong Uichico, is a Filipino professional basketball coach who last coached the Bataan Risers in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. Uichico is a former Philippine national team Youth member and a former player and head coach of the La Salle Green Archers in the UAAP before replacing Ron Jacobs as SMB coach in 1999. Uichico was coach of the San Miguel Beermen from 1999–2006, leading the Beermen to six PBA championships. Basketball career Uichico played for the La Salle Green Archers in the collegiate ranks. He was a member of the 1982 RP Youth Team that won the ABC Under-18 Championship. Selecta is a Filipino dairy products brand owned by RFM Corporation (). Its milk business is operated by RFM Corporation, while its ice cream business is operated under a joint-venture with Unilever Philippines, Inc. (known as Unilever RFM Ice Cream, Inc.), and serves as the Philippine branch of Unilever's Heartbrand line of ice cream. History The brand's beginnings can be traced back to 1933 when Ramón Arce started pasteurizing carabao milk near his home in Novaliches (then a part of Caloocan), where carabaos were in abundance. Arce would establish his first dairy plant in 1935. Unilever RFM Ice Cream, Inc. would cite the brand's foundation year as 1948.
