RK Vrbas
RK Vrbas () is a Serbian handball club based in Vrbas. They compete in the Serbian Handball Super B League. History The club was established in 1955. They made their Yugoslav Handball Championship debut in the 1988–89 season. The club reached the EHF Cup round of 16 in the 1995–96 season. They competed in the Serbian Handball Super League from 2006 to 2008 and from 2012 to 2014. COVID-19 Pandemic In Serbia
The COVID-19 pandemic in Serbia is a current outbreak of the disease COVID-19 in Serbia caused by the virus SARS-CoV-2. Its first case in Serbia was reported on 6 March 2020, and confirmed by Minister of Health Zlatibor Lončar. The case was a 43-year-old man from Bačka Topola who had travelled to Budapest. In late June 2020, the Balkan Insight published a report based on the allegedly leaked data from the internal Government COVID-19 information system. This report stated that in reality, Serbia had recorded 632 deaths due to COVID-19 in the period from 19 March to 1 June 2020, which corresponds to 388 additional deaths caused by the virus that were not publicly reported. Additionally, according to the leaked data, the number of people who became infected in Serbia from 17 June to 20 June was at least 300 per day, while public reports never accounted for more than 96 cases per day in the same period. Miloš Orbović (; born 2 November 1993) is a Serbian handball player who plays for HC Kriens-Luzern and the Serbia national team. Club career Orbović started out at Vrbas. He later spent three seasons with Vojvodina (2014–2017), winning three consecutive championships. International career A full Serbia international since 2015, Orbović made his major debut for the national team at the 2016 European Championship. The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations (England and Scotland), and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. History EHF was founded on 17 November 1991 in Berlin, Germany, although the first EHF Congress convened on 5 June 1992 and assigned EHF's headquarters to Vienna, Austria from 1 September that year. Drago Jovović (; 2 December 1954 – 2002) was a Serbian handball player who competed for Yugoslavia in the 1980 Summer Olympics. Club career Jovović started out at Vrbas before moving to Crvenka. Jovica Elezović
Jovica Elezović (; born 2 March 1956) is a Serbian former handball coach and player who competed for Yugoslavia in the 1980 Summer Olympics and in the 1984 Summer Olympics. Club career Elezović started playing handball for his hometown club Vrbas at the age of 19. He also spent one season with Crvenka, before joining Borac Banja Luka in 1977. Over the years, Elezović established himself as one of the best players in Yugoslavia, helping his team win the championship in the 1980–81 season. He also played with Proleter Zrenjanin for one season, before going abroad. In 1985, Elezović moved to Germany and signed with Reinickendorfer Füchse. Dragan Momić
Dragan Momić (; born 28 November 1963) is a Serbian former handball player. Club career Momić started out at his hometown club Vrbas. He moved abroad to Liga ASOBAL team Juventud Alcalá in 1992. After a year in Spain, Momić returned to his homeland and agreed terms with Partizan. He helped them win the domestic double in the 1993–94 season. After spending several seasons with his parent club Vrbas in the mid-to-late 1990s, Momić rejoined Partizan and appeared in the 1999–2000 EHF Champions League. Jovan Kovačević (; born 14 September 1970) is a Serbian former handball player. Club career Kovačević started out at his hometown club Vrbas. He would spend two seasons with Partizan between 1993 and 1995, winning back-to-back championships. In 1997, Kovačević moved abroad to Spain and signed with Bidasoa. He also played for fellow Liga ASOBAL team Cangas, before moving to Germany in 1999. After spending three seasons at SG Hameln, Kovačević was signed by Swiss club Grasshoppers in 2002.
