Jovica Elezović
Jovica Elezović (; born 2 March 1956) is a Serbian former handball coach and player who competed for Yugoslavia in the 1980 Summer Olympics and in the 1984 Summer Olympics. Club career Elezović started playing handball for his hometown club RK Vrbas, Vrbas at the age of 19. He also spent one season with RK Crvenka, Crvenka, before joining RK Borac Banja Luka, Borac Banja Luka in 1977. Over the years, Elezović established himself as one of the best players in Yugoslavia, helping his team win the Yugoslav Handball Championship, championship in the 1980–81 season. He also played with RK Proleter Zrenjanin, Proleter Zrenjanin for one season, before going abroad. In 1985, Elezović moved to Germany and signed with Reinickendorfer Füchse. He would also play for fellow German teams TuS Hofweier and TUSEM Essen. Before retiring, Elezović spent one season with Spanish club CD Cajamadrid, Cajamadrid. Vrbas, Serbia
Vrbas ( sr-Cyrl, Врбас) is a town and municipality located in the South Bačka District of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Serbia. As of 2022, the town has a population of 20,892, while the municipality has 36,601 inhabitants. Name Its name stems from the word for 'willow' in Serbian language, Serbian. During the SFRY period, the town was renamed ''Titov Vrbas'' (meaning 'Tito's Vrbas'), after Josip Broz Tito. Uroš Elezović
Uroš Elezović (; born 28 January 1982) is a Serbian former handball player. Currently he is the head coach of Jugović member of Serbian Handball Super League. Club career After starting out at Vrbas, Elezović played for Sintelon and Partizan, before moving abroad. He would go on to play in Slovenia, France, Switzerland, Qatar, Israel and Hungary. With Vojvodina, Elezović won three consecutive national championships (2012–13, 2013–14 and 2014–15). He ended his career back in Serbia playing for Proleter Zrenjanin (2019–20) where also started his coaching career as assistant coach. The 1997 World Men's Handball Championship was the 15th team handball World Championship. It was held in Kumamoto, Japan and was the first World Championship not played in a European country. Yugoslav Handball Championship
The Yugoslav Handball Championship was the highest level competition in men's team handball in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, played regularly for almost four decades between 1953 and 1992, before being abandoned due to the breakup of Yugoslavia. History The first five editions from 1953 to 1957 were decided via a finals play-off tournament contested by clubs who had qualified in regional competitions, before a regular round-robin league format was introduced for the 1957–58 season. The Mediterranean Games is a multi-sport event organised by the International Committee of Mediterranean Games (CIJM). It is held every four years among athletes from countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea in Africa, Asia and Europe.
