RC Lescure-Arthes XIII
Racing Club Lescure-Arthès XIII are a French Rugby league club based in Lescure-d'Albigeois, Tarn in the Midi-Pyrénées region. The club plays in the French Elite Two Championship. Founded in 1964 as a youth side, their home ground is the Stade Jean Vidal. History Racing Club Lescure XIII as they were originally called were founded in 1964 by school teacher Jean Carayon as a youth team. Helped by fellow teachers ''Pierre Lapeyre'' and ''Henri Papailhau'' the team used to train and play anywhere they could until the Stade Jean Vidal was secured and became their base. In 1974 it was decided to start a senior team but with their ground not up to league standard they played their first season at the Stade Mazicou in nearby Albi. Stade Jean Vidal
Stade (), officially the Hanseatic City of Stade (german: Hansestadt Stade, nds, Hansestadt Stood) is a city in Lower Saxony in northern Germany. First mentioned in records in 934, it is the seat of the district () which bears its name. It is located roughly to the west of Hamburg and belongs to that city's wider metropolitan region. The Albert Falcou Cup (french: Coupe Albert-Falcou), also called Albert Falcou French Cup (french: Coupe de France Albert-Falcou), is an annual knock-out competition organised by the Fédération Française de Rugby à XIII for amateur rugby league clubs in France. History The competition was introduced in 1937 and was originally known as the French Amateur Cup. The inaugural winners were the short-lived La Rochelle club (during World War II the club was forced to merge with the city's rugby union club, Atlantique Stade Rochelais, by the Vichy Government of the time). When rugby league was legalised again at the end of the war, the cup was re-instituted as the National Cup. This incarnation was contested between 1945 and 1962. Racing Club Albi XIII originally called Racing Club Albigeois XIII and more recently also known as Albi Tigers are a semi-professional rugby league team based in Albi in the Occitanie region in southern France. Formed in 1934 the club compete in the Elite One Championship the highest level of competition in France. They have won the French title on five occasions and the Lord Derby Cup once. Their current home stadium is Stade Mazicou. History RC Albi were one of the founder clubs of Rugby League in France indeed they were the second club formed after US Villeneuve in May 1934. They were formed by Jean-Marie Vignal one of Jean Galia's pioneers who would be the club's first captain/coach and Simon Bompunt who would be the club's first chairman. Elite 1 is the top level rugby league competition in France, sanctioned by the French Rugby League Federation. The season runs from September to April, which is in contrast to the majority of other major domestic rugby league competitions worldwide. The clubs play each other home and away then they enter into a play-off series culminating with a Grand Final. The competition is the continuation and first division of the French Rugby League Championship, which has been in existence since 1934, and is generally regarded as the third most important domestic championship in the world, behind Australia's National Rugby League and the transnational European Super League, and ahead of the NZRL National Competition, Balkan Super League, Rhino Cup and USA Rugby League. Racing Club Baho XIII who are more commonly known as RC Baho XIII are a semi-professional rugby league team based in the town of Baho in the region of Pyrenees-Orientales in southern France. The club compete in the Elite Two Championship which is the second tier rugby league competition in France. Their home ground is the Stade Municipal de Baho and they are coached by Didier Meynard. History During the mid eighties RC Baho XIII reached three consecutive National 2 now called National Division 1 finals. Losing the first one in season 84/85 against Palau XIII Broncos 15-24, they gained revenge in 1985/86 beating Palau XIII Broncos 34-20, then lost 6-7 against US Trentels XIII in 1987. Gifi Bias XIII
Gifi Bias XIII were a French Rugby league club based in Bias, Lot-et-Garonne, in the Aquitaine region. The club played in the French National Division 1 and National Division 2 leagues during its time. Founded in 1961, the club moved to Pujols, Lot-et-Garonne in 2014 and changed names to US Pujols XIII History Gifi Bias XIII were founded in 1961 but the club would have to wait for over 30 years before their first final appearance. That came in 1995 when they won the Coupe Falcou and by the end of the season they had completed a league and cup double after defeating RC Lescure-Arthes XIII in the National 2 nowadays the National Division 1 league final 34-12. Toulouse Olympique Broncos are a semi-professional rugby league team based in Toulouse in the south of France. Formerly called Toulouse Jules-Julien Broncos XIII the club changed name at the end of the 2011-12 season after being taken over by Toulouse Olympique. Formed in 1980, they currently play in the Elite One Championship History Founded in 1980 as Association Sportive Toulouse Jules-Julien XIII the club joined the amateur ranks in rugby league. In 1987 a youth academy was set up running teams from 4 years and up. The club was promoted in 1994 after winning the National Division 2 title. During the following season the club, after getting into financial trouble, had to withdraw from the league.
