RB Montecatini Terme
Montecatiniterme Basketball is an Italian basketball team that is based in Montecatini Terme, Tuscany. History Established in 1949, the first incarnation of the club, Montecatini Sporting Club, played in the first division Serie A from 1989 to 2001 (with spells in the second division Serie A2) before declaring bankruptcy in 2001. The club was reestablished in 2002 when a new ownership brought the sporting rights of neighbours Massa e Cozzile to play in the third division Serie B1. Promoted after one season, the side stayed in the second division LegaDue until 2008, before folding two years later. Montecatini Sporting Club 1949, formed by former player Andrea Niccolai, was formed to succeed the side in 2010, buying the sporting rights of Certaldo to play in the Serie C Dilettanti. The club would earn promotion and win the league's cup during its initial season. Mario Boni (born 30 June 1963 in Codogno, Italy) is an Italian former professional basketball player. Playing as shooting guard or small forward, he had a long career in the Italian leagues, finishing as the top scorer of the top-tier level Serie A, in the 1993–1994 season. He also played club basketball internationally, most notably for Greek side Aris, with whom he won the 1996–97 FIBA Korać Cup. Charles Rahmel Jones (born July 17, 1975) is a retired American professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA), with the Chicago Bulls (NBA) & Los Angeles Clippers (NBA). Raised in Bedford–Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, New York, Jones was one of two children of Charles and Cathy Jones and graduated from Bishop Ford Central Catholic High School in 1993. Corsley Edwards (born March 5, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Central Connecticut. Early life and college Edwards was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated from Lake Clifton High School in 1998. He played collegiately at Central Connecticut State University and led the team to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2000, losing a close 88–78 battle as a #15 seed against #2 seeded Iowa State. Preston Anthony Shumpert (20 August 1979), also known by his Turkish name of Mert Shumpert, is an American-born, naturalised-Turkish professional basketball player. He was twice named to the All-Big East first team while playing college basketball for Syracuse.
