The Barr Brothers
The Barr Brothers is an indie folk band founded in Montreal, Quebec in 2006, consisting of two American brothers Andrew (drums, percussion, vocals, keyboards) and Brad Barr (guitar, vocals), as well as bassist Morgan Moore, pedal steel guitarist Brett Lanier, and harpist Eveline Gregoire-Rousseau. History Brad and Andrew Barr moved to Montreal from Providence, Rhode Island in 2005, after a decade of touring and recording as two-thirds of the trio The Slip. That group was noted for its approach to long-form, live Improvisation and was equally considered part of the Jam band and Experimental music scenes. Soon after moving to Montreal, Brad heard the sounds of a harp through the bedroom wall of his new apartment. Secret City Records is a Canadian independent record label based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The music label was founded in 2006 by Andrew Rose and Justin West, originally as sublabel of Justin Time Records. It became fully independent in late 2008. Artists who have released material on Secret City include Patrick Watson, Miracle Fortress, Plants and Animals, Diamond Rings, Human Highway, Basia Bulat, Thus Owls, Daniel Isaiah, and The Barr Brothers. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. Metacritic's scoring converts each review into a percentage, either mathematically from the mark given, or what the site decides subjectively from a qualitative review.
