Q Tour
The Q Tour is a series of snooker tournaments, immediately below the level of the World Snooker Main Tour. The tour originally ran between the 1994–95 season and the 2004–05 season as professional non-ranking events. Due to the large numbers of players on tour at that time the new WPBSA Minor Tour was formed so players lower down the rankings had tournaments to play in. It was subsequently rebranded the UK Tour and then the Challenge Tour. It was revived for the 2018–19 season, before being rebranded as the Q Tour for the 2021–22 season. History The concept of a secondary professional tour was first experimented with in the 1994–95 season in the form of the ''WPBSA Minor Tour'' to provide competition for lower ranked professionals, but only ran for a season. 2022–23 Q Tour
The 2022–23 Q Tour is a series of snooker tournaments to take place during the 2022–23 snooker season. The Q Tour is the second-tier tour, run by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, for players not on the main World Snooker Tour. A series of six events were played with the leading money-winner gaining a place on the main tour for the 2023–24 snooker season. The 16 highest-ranked players who had not already got a place on the main tour for the 2023–24 season, gained entry to a further event, the WPBSA Q Tour Playoff, the winner of which also gets a place. Martin O'Donnell won two of the six events to be the leading money-winner and gain a place on the tour. Ashley Carty won the playoff to gain the second place. Pro Challenge Series
The Pro Challenge Series was a series of non-ranking snooker tournaments held during the 2009–10 snooker season. The events were open to all players on the main tour and were intended to give tour players more playing opportunities. Seven events were planned but only four took place before the series was cancelled, due to low player participation. The series was not repeated and was replaced by the Players Tour Championship, which started the following season. Prize fund Except for event 2, events had a prize fund of £15,000 with the winner receiving £5,000. Event 2, which was played using the six-red snooker, six-red format, had a prize fund of £10,000 with the winner receiving £3,000. Noppadon Noppachorn
Noppadon Noppachorn ( th, นพดล นภจร; born 24 February 1968) is a former professional snooker player from Thailand who played a number of matches on the world snooker tour between 1992 and 2002. He played as part of the 1996 Snooker World Cup Thailand team with fellow professionals James Wattana and Tai Pichit. 3 times Noppachorn reached the final 32 of professional tournaments. At the 1997 Welsh Open Noppachorn defeated David Finbow in the round of 64 before losing to Tony Drago. He reached the last 32 of the 1999 Grand Prix. 2020–21 Snooker Season
The 2020–21 snooker season was a professional snooker season with tournaments played from 13 September 2020 to 9 May 2021. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the season was played almost entirely without a live audience with only the 2021 World Snooker Championship being played in front of a crowd. All snooker tournaments in the season were played in the United Kingdom, due to travel and quarantine restrictions preventing the tour and players from utilising usual venues. Judd Trump won five ranking events during the season, whilst Mark Selby won the 2021 World Snooker Championship, to win his fourth world championship. World Professional Billiards And Snooker Association
The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) is the governing body of professional snooker and English billiards based in Bristol, England. It owns and publishes the official rules of the two sports and engages in promotional activities. 2018–19 Challenge Tour
The Q Tour, Challenge Tour 2018/2019 was a series of snooker tournaments that took place during the 2018–19 snooker season, 2018–19 season. It was a second-tier tour for players not on the main World Snooker Tour. The top two players in the final rankings earned a two-year card to the World Snooker Tour for 2019–20 snooker season, 2019–20. Brandon Sargeant was certain of his place in the top two even before the final event. Prior to the draw for the final event, Sargeant led the rankings and only David Grace (snooker player), David Grace and Mitchell Mann could catch him. Q School (snooker)
The Q School is an amateur snooker competition which serves as the qualification process for the World Snooker Tour. Overview The Q School was established in an attempt to streamline the qualification process for the World Snooker Tour. A series of play-offs are run every year before the season. Players pay a fixed entry fee to enter the play-off events, and there is no prize money. Each player who wins a quarter-final game qualifies for a two-year tour card on the Main Tour.
