Quixadá Futebol Clube, commonly known as Quixadá, is a Brazilian football club based in Quixadá, Ceará state. They competed in the Série C once. History The club was founded on September October 27, 1965. They won the Campeonato Cearense Second Level in 1967. Quixadá
Quixadá is a municipality in the state of Ceará, in Brazil. It is known for its unusual rock formations, known locally as monoliths. Location Quixadá is located at around . It was founded in 1870 and had a population of 80,605 residents in 2010, according to the Brazilian census. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Quixadá. Pre-historic cave paintings and other archaeological remains have been found in the vicinity. The municipality contains the Quixadá Monoliths Natural Monument, a fully protected area around and containing the highly unusual inselbergs known locally as monoliths, which are of considerable tourist interest. The Barragem do Cedro (Cedar Dam) was built between 1890 and 1906 using stone masonry, cement and steel, at the foot of the Pedra da Galinha Choca (Brooding Hen Rock), the most famous of the monoliths. Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série C is the third tier of the Brazilian football league system. Unlike the first and second divisions, the Série C is not played in a double round robin system, arguably because many participating teams lack the financial conditions to travel long distances. Thus, the tournament is organized in regional groups and the table prevents teams from distant states from playing each other in the initial rounds. Until 2008, any professional team could apply, but only 64 teams would take part in the tournament. The teams that had been relegated from the Série B in the previous year were joined by teams qualified for each federation state. The Campeonato Cearense is the association football, football league of the state of Ceará, Brazil. Format The Campeonato Cearense has three divisions with the following division and format (as in any other Brazilian soccer championship, the format can change every year): First Division The ten clubs play two legs. In each leg there are three stages: *First stage: All teams play each other one time. *Second stage: Two-legged knockout with the top 4 teams of the first stage (1st x 4th and 2nd x 3rd). *Third stage: Two-legged knockout with the second stage winners.
