Quincy High School (Massachusetts)
Quincy High School (QHS) is a public secondary school located on Coddington Street in Quincy, Massachusetts, United States. It doubles as one of two high schools in the city of Quincy and as the vocational center. Quincy's mascot is known as the 'Presidents' and their school colors are Blue & White. History Quincy High School was founded in 1854 about a half-mile down Hancock Street (marked by the current High School Avenue) and moved to the former Central Middle School in 1894. It moved to Coddington Street in 1924. North Quincy High School was established at a separate location in 1926. Construction of the new high school building was completed in 2010. Athletics Quincy is part of the Patriot League, and previously competed in the Atlantic Coast and Old Colony Leagues. As of 2018, Quincy High School has had consistent success recently in both boys' and girls' volleyball and basketball. North Quincy High School
North Quincy High School (NQHS) is a public secondary school located in the North Quincy neighborhood of Quincy, Massachusetts, United States. The school serves grades 9 through 12, and has an enrollment of over 1,200 students. It is one of two public high schools in the city—the other being Quincy High School. The school's mascot is known as "Yakoo", and its school colors are red and black. History The school was originally built as North Junior High School in 1925. An additional wing was added to the eastern side of the building in 1931, and the school was changed into a senior high school. The newly established North Quincy High School graduated its first class of seniors in 1934, and a second wing was added to the building two years later. Quincy High School (Washington)
Quincy High School is a public high school serving 770 students in grades 9–12 located in Quincy, Washington, United States. The current principal is Dr. Marcus Pimpleton. It's athletics nickname is ''The Jacks''. This is a reference to the black-tailed jackrabbits which once inhabited the area. Although they are now considered to be a highly endangered species in the Washington area, these hares were once so abundant, they were hunted for sport. The jackrabbits were hunted so frequently, they quickly became a scarcity. Now legally protected, the jackrabbit population is slowly returning. In homage of the creatures who were nearly hunted to extinction, Quincy High School has since made the black-tailed jackrabbit their official mascot. Quincy Notre Dame High School is a private, Roman Catholic co-educational high school in Quincy, Illinois, United States, founded in 1867, serving upper school students in grades 9- 12. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Springfield in Illinois. The curriculum is college preparatory. History Historically, private upper school Catholic education in Quincy was separated between schools for boys and girls. The predecessor to Notre Dame was established as a girls' school in 1859, while the Quincy College Academy was established as the boys' preparatory school. In 1859, a local bishop invited the School Sisters of Notre Dame to teach in the town. First known as the Convent School of Infant Jesus, it was chartered by the state in 1873 as the Saint Mary Institute.
