"Questing, Not Coasting" is a song by Newcastle-upon-Tyne band Maxïmo Park Maxïmo Park are an English alternative rock band, formed in 2000 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band consists of Paul Smith (vocals), Duncan Lloyd (guitar), and Tom English (drums). The band have released seven studio albums: '' A Certain Trigge .... It is the second single to be released from their third studio album, '' Quicken the Heart'' on 13 July 2009. The band stated on their website that "Over the last few weeks we've been playing this song live and audiences have responded in a very emotional fashion, so it makes perfect sense for it to be the next single." It shows a different side to the band than the recent " The Kids Are Sick Again," which newcomers to the band may have heard on the radio. The B-sides are "Too Many Letters" and "That Beating Heart," which has been played most nights of their recent tour. ''Quicken the Heart'' is the third studio album by Maxïmo Park. It was released on 11 May 2009. It debuted at No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart. Album information The album is available on vinyl, regular CD, special edition CD and DVD pack and digital download. A T-shirt was also made available with the album. The album was produced by Nick Launay, of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Nick Cave and Talking Heads production fame. The special edition contains the regular CD album along with a DVD titled ''Monument'', which features a 68-minute-long tour-film taken from the band's sold out show at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena in December 2007, including live performances and exclusive backstage footage. The first 500 special editions purchased through the band's website were sent out signed by one of the band members. Post-punk revival (also known as garage rock revival,J. Stuessy and S. D. Duncan Lloyd
Duncan Lloyd is an English singer-songwriter and guitarist. He is the lead songwriter and backing vocalist for Maxïmo Park. He also works as a solo artist releasing albums on Warp Records (U.K.), Crash Symbols (U.S.) and is currently on Reveal Records. Working under the name, 'Decade in Exile' as well as his own name, he is also in experimental band Res Band from Derby and alternative rock band Nano Kino. Paul Smith (musician)
Paul Smith (born 13 March 1979) is an English singer and songwriter. He is best known as the leader singer of indie rock band Maxïmo Park. Biography Born in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, Smith is the eldest of three children, and was educated at Northfield School. He attended Newcastle University completing a BA and MA, studying Art History and English Linguistics, following a 1-year Foundation Studies course at Cleveland College of Art and Design in Hartlepool. He briefly worked as an art teacher at Stockton Riverside College before he was asked to join Maxïmo Park. In 2014 Smith teamed up with Field Music singer Peter Brewis to record an album, ''Frozen by Sight'', derived from his travel writing and featuring string arrangements by Brewis.
