Queen Air
Queen Air (legally ''Aeronaves Queen S.A.'') was a Dominican airline based at Las Americas International Airport, in Santo Domingo. It began operations in 1998 but ceased these in 1999. In 2002, 49% of its shares were acquired by Michigan-based Auxer Group with an attempt to restart operations with a single Lockheed L-1011 TriStar in 2004, but this was unsuccessful. Fleet Queen Air operated a single Airbus A320-200 (N302ML) wet-leased from TransMeridian Airlines. The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar, also known as the L-1011 (pronounced "El-ten-eleven") and TriStar, is an American medium-to-long-range, wide-body trijet airliner built by the Lockheed Corporation. It was the third wide-body airliner to enter commercial operations, after the Boeing 747 and the McDonnell Douglas DC-10. TransMeridian Airlines was an Atlanta, Georgia based charter airline, operating under U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Aviation Regulations Part 121. The McDonnell Douglas DC-9 is an American five-abreast single-aisle aircraft designed by the Douglas Aircraft Company. It was initially produced by the developer company as the Douglas DC-9 until August 1967 and then by McDonnell Douglas.
