Yuqiao Subdistrict
Yuqiao Subdistrict () is a subdistrict located on northern part of Tongzhou District, Beijing. It borders Zhongcang and Tongyun Subdistricts to its north, Yongshun Town to its east, Zhangjiawan Town to its southeast, Liyuan Town to its southwest, and Beiyuan Subdistrict to its northwest. The population of the subdistrict was 115,813 as of the 2020 census. History In 1948, four townships under Tongxian were merged into the newly created Tongzhou City. Tongzhou District (, alternate spellings ''Tungchow'' ''Tungchou'' (T'ung-chou), or Tong County during 1914–1997) is a district of Beijing. It is located in southeast Beijing and considered the eastern gateway to the nation's capital. Beijingxi (Beijing West) railway station (), colloquially referred to as ''West Station'' (), is located in western Beijing's Fengtai District. Opened in early 1996 after three years of construction, it was the largest railway station in Asia with an area of 510,000 m2, before being surpassed by Shanghai Hongqiao railway station in platform capacity. Liangxiang railway station () is a railway station in Liangxiang, Fangshan District, Beijing, China. It serves as an intermediate freight station of the Beijing–Guangzhou railway, while passenger services are provided by the Sub-Central line of Beijing Suburban Railway since 30 June 2020. History Liangxiang railway station was opened in January 1899 as a station of Peking–Hankow railway, following the completion of its Lugouqiao-Baoding section. A coal transportation railway from Liangxiang to Tuoli was completed in July 1904.
