Qaraxanbəyli, Nakhchivan
Qaraxanbəyli (also, Garakhanbayli, Karakhanbeyli and Karakhan-begly) is a village and municipality in the Nakhchivan city of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Azerbaijan. It is located in the south of the city of Nakhchivan, next to it. The international railway of Azerbaijan used to be passed through the village. Its population is busy with grain-growing, vegetable-growing, animal husbandry, fruit-growing and horticulture. There are secondary school, club, library, cultural center and a medical center in the village. It has a population of 2,397. Etymology The settlement was founded by the tribe of ''Qaraxanbəyli'' of Turkic Kengerlis. In the middle of the 18th century, a part of the ''qaraxanbəyli'' tribe has been resettled in the Karabakh Khanate by the Panah Ali Khan. The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic ( az, Naxçıvan Muxtar Respublikası, ), is a landlocked exclave of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Nakhchivan ( az, Naxçıvan ; arm, Նախիջևան, Nakhijevan) is the capital of the eponymous Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, located west of Baku. Panah Ali Khan Javanshir (, ; 1693 – 1759 or 1763) was the founder and first ruler of the Karabakh Khanate under Persian suzerainty. Ancestry Panah Ali Khan was from the Sarijali branch of the clan of Javanshir, who with their associate clan of ''Otuz-Iki'' (meaning ''thirty-two'' in Azerbaijani) had for long been rivals of the ''Yirmi-Dört'' (meaning ''twenty-four'' in Azerbaijani) and Ziyadoghlu Qajars of Ganja, whose chiefs had been official rulers of Karabakh since Safavid times. Mirasgar Seyidov
Mirasgar Mirabdulla oglu Seyidov ( az, Mirəsgər Mirabdulla oğlu Seyidov) (6 February 1970 – 14 June 1992) - National Hero of Azerbaijan was born on February 6, 1970, in the Qaraxanbəyli village of the Nakhchivan city of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. Life Mirasgar Seyidov worked in his own village after finishing secondary school in 1987. He returned to Nakhchivan after being dismissed from the Soviet Army in 1990. In Battles The First Nagorno-Karabakh War did not pass by Nakhchivan either. Armenian forces started attacking villages of Nakhchivan constantly. But all the attacks were prevented by the voluntary self-defense groups and Mirasgar Seyidov was one of them who voluntarily enlisted in the self-defense battalion of Yuxarı Buzqov village. He was fighting within this battalion. He showed extreme courage in all the battles. His last battle took place on the 14th of June, 1992.
