Qafqaz University
Qafqaz University (in Azerbaijani: Qafqaz Universiteti) was a private university located in Baku, Azerbaijan. It was founded in 1993 and was the first and the only foreign private university in the country. On 16 January 2017, it was decided by management to shut down the university. History The 'Qafqaz' university was initially established in 1993. In July 2016, it was announced that the Qafqaz university would close. Thenafter Baku Engineering University was established on November 8, 2016. The establishment of "Baku Engineering University" public legal entity charter has been approved by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 21, 2017. Mission The university stated that its mission is to give students a university education at international standards and infuse them with enthusiasm to constantly reach for new horizons. Xırdalan
Xırdalan () is a city, municipality and the capital of the Absheron District of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 95,200. Khyrdalan is home of country's biggest brewery ''Baltika Baku'', previously known as Khyrdalan . A monument to Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak was erected in 2007 in the city. Similarly, a statue of Heydar Aliyev was erected in Cairo in 2008. In the wake of the 2011 Egyptian protests, the Azerbaijani opposition, led by the Musavat Party, demanded the demolition of the statue, calling it a "worship of idols". Heydar Alirza oghlu Aliyev ( az, Һејдәр Әлирза оғлу Әлијев, italic=no, Heydər Əlirza oğlu Əliyev, ; , ; 10 May 1923 – 12 December 2003) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani politician who served as the third president of Azerbaijan from October 1993 to October 2003. 2008–09 Azerbaijan First Division
The 2008–09 Azerbaijan First Division is the second-level of football in Azerbaijan. The season started on 6 September 2009 with eight teams participating in the league. NBC Salyan were the defending champions. ABN Bärdä won the league, with Shahdag finishing as runners up. Both teams were due to be promoted to the Azerbaijan Premier League, but due to the AFFA's license policy, neither teams were.
