Pål Skjønberg
Pål Eugen Bucher Skjønberg (20 October 1919 – 3 February 2014) was a Norwegian actor. He was born in Stavanger to actors Eugen (1889–1971) and Henny Skjønberg (1886–1973). He was the older brother of actor Espen Skjønberg. They grew up in Bærum and Oslo. In 1946 he married actress Elisabeth Bang (1922–2009). He made his stage debut for Bærum Studiescene during World War II. Both his brother and future wife were involved here too. He was later employed at the theatre Det Norske Teatret from 1945 to his retirement in 1989, except for the years 1951 to 1952 when he worked at Den Nationale Scene. His film debut came in 1946 in the film ''Englandsfarere''. Another notable appearance was the film ''Ut av mørket'', which was entered into the 8th Berlin International Film Festival. The King's Medal of Merit (Norwegian: ''Kongens fortjenstmedalje'') is a Norwegian award. It was instituted in 1908 to reward meritorious achievements in the fields of art, science, business, and public service. It is divided in two classes: gold and silver. The medal in gold is rewarded for extraordinary achievements of importance to the nation and society. The medal in silver may be awarded for lesser achievements. ''Himmel og helvete'' (Heaven and Hell) is a Norwegian propaganda film from 1969 directed by Øyvind Vennerød with a screenplay by Vennerød and Victor Borg. The film was poorly received by the critics, but it nonetheless became one of the highest-grossing theater films in Norway in 1969. Lillebjørn Nilsen and Sigrid Huun played the main characters Arne and Eva. Plot The film's action takes place in Oslo. It begins with a housewife coming home and finding her daughter Ingrid half-dead from using drugs. The daughter dies a few hours later in the hospital. While the police search Ingrid's room, the pusher Johan shows up. The police find him suspicious, but they have no authority to arrest him. The script was written by Sigbjørn Hølmebakk based on a concept by Bjørn Storberget. The film stars Lasse Kolstad and Sidsel Meyer. Plot Skating king Hans Hellemo grew up under difficult conditions. His father's highest dream in life was for his son to go to college. Hans works as a truck driver, and the rest of the time he practices skating.
