Skøytekongen
''Skøytekongen'' (The Skating King) is a black-and-white Norwegian drama film from 1953 directed by Nils R. Müller. The script was written by Sigbjørn Hølmebakk based on a concept by Bjørn Storberget. The film stars Lasse Kolstad and Sidsel Meyer. Plot Skating king Hans Hellemo grew up under difficult conditions. His father's highest dream in life was for his son to go to college. Hans works as a truck driver, and the rest of the time he practices skating. His father watches with bitterness how his son's friends go off to college one by one, while his son is still working. Eventually it dawns on Hans that it is not enough to just be a skating king. He marries and has children. Hans wants to retire from the sport, but his fame prevents him: the people keep demanding that he show up. Bjørn Storberget
Bjørn Storberget (July 5, 1921 – September 29, 1999) was a Norwegian writer. Storberget was born in Langesund. Storberget's career was connected with the Norwegian postal service. He started working for the postal service in 1938, and in 1939 he worked as a student at the Langesund post office. He also performed postal work in Larvik and Kristiansand. He took the postal examination in 1941. In 1942 he was employed as the head postal assistant in Vadsø, and on January 1, 1947, at the post office in Asker. Storberget took over editing of the magazine ''POST'' in 1956 in addition to his usual work in Asker. Alongside his job as an editor, Storberget was also responsible for external information, such as preparing brochures and maintaining contact with the press. Bjarne Bø
Bjarne Bø (April 3, 1907 – August 9, 1998) was a Norwegian actor. Bø was born in Skjeberg in the municipality of Sarpsborg in Østfold county, Norway. He debuted in 1939 in the role of Sjur in the play ''Hu Dagmar'' by Ove Ansteinsson (1884–1942) at the Bjørnevik Theater. From 1935 to 1939 he acted at the National Theater, mostly playing minor roles. In 1951 he moved to the new People's Theater. This merged with the Oslo New Theater in 1959, and he played the rest of his career there. His most important work was at the Children's Theater, where he wrote, taught, and played in over 1,000 performances together with children. He was a recognized poetry reciter and was often engaged as a reader for NRK radio and television. Bonne Gauguin
Bonne Gauguin (born Ingeborg Kathrine Winther-Hjelm Jelstrup, November 28, 1910 – July 12, 1989) was a Norwegian actress and dance instructor. Gauguin trained as a dance teacher in Germany. In the 1930s she moved to Trondheim and made her debut at the Trøndelag Theater. In 1941 she married the visual artist Paul René Gauguin, who was a set designer at the Unge Trøndelag Theater from 1939 to 1945. In 1946 they moved to Oslo, where she got a job at the Studio Theater. The couple divorced before 1950. When the Studio Theater closed down, she started working at the National Traveling Theater, and she also worked at the People's Theater and to a lesser extent at the Norwegian Theater, NRK's Radio Theater and Television Theater, and in Norwegian films. Dan Fosse (February 26, 1918 – December 6, 1987) was a Norwegian actor. He is best known for his role as the housemaster Haukås in the Stompa films and as the voice of Bodø in the radio plays about Stompa & Co. Arne Bang-Hansen (September 8, 1911 – February 23, 1990) was a Norwegian actor that performed at the National Theater in Oslo for many years. Alf Malland
Alf Malland (24 January 1917 – 16 August 1997) was a Norwegian actor. Biography He was born in Bergen, Norway. He began his acting career as a student at the Det Norske Teatret in Oslo. Following the German occupation of Norway during World War II, he quit as a theater student and participated in the resistance. Malland first went to Sweden and in 1942 he left for Great Britain where he trained as a paratrooper. He arrived at Finnmark in November 1944 as company commander with the Norwegian forces. Eugen Skjønberg
Conrad Eugen Skjønberg (March 27, 1889 – July 25, 1971) was a Norwegian actor. Eugen Skjønberg was married to the actress Henny Skjønberg. They resided at Ramstad. He was the father of Per Skjønberg, Pål Skjønberg, and Espen Skjønberg, and the grandfather of Hennika Skjønberg, Siv Skjønberg, and Jo Skjønberg, all of whom were actors and actresses. Skjønberg started his career in the banking industry in Kragerø and Skien, but in his twenties he was discovered in the amateur theater by a dance teacher, who recommended him to Alma Fahlstrøm in 1913. Pål Skjønberg
Pål Eugen Bucher Skjønberg (20 October 1919 – 3 February 2014) was a Norwegian actor. He was born in Stavanger to actors Eugen (1889–1971) and Henny Skjønberg (1886–1973). He was the older brother of actor Espen Skjønberg. They grew up in Bærum and Oslo. In 1946 he married actress Elisabeth Bang (1922–2009). He made his stage debut for Bærum Studiescene during World War II. Both his brother and future wife were involved here too.
