Pyunik Yerevan
Football Club Pyunik Yerevan ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Փյունիկ Երևան, Futbolayin Akumb P’yunik Yerevan), commonly known as Pyunik ("Phoenix"), is an Armenian professional sports club based in the Kentron neighbourhood of Yerevan. Pyunik is mostly known for its professional football team which, since its creation in 1992, has always played in the Armenian Premier League, becoming the most successful team of Armenia in number of official titles, with 31 won to date. Internationally, Pyunik has yet to win an international title, with the closest result being a bronze place finish in the 2006 Commonwealth of Independent States Cup. Pyunik's domestic success usually qualifies the team for UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds. Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium
Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium ( hy, Վազգեն Սարգսյանի անվան Հանրապետական մարզադաշտ) also known as the Republican Stadium ( hy, Հանրապետական մարզադաշտ, translit=Hanrapetakan Marzadasht) is an all-seater multi-use stadium located on 65 Vardanants street, in the Armenian capital Yerevan. The stadium was built between 1933 and 1935. It was officially opened in 1935 as ''Dinamo Stadium''. Further developments were implemented in 1953, after the end of World War II. Homenetmen ( hy, Հ.Մ.Ը.Մ., , short for hy, Հայ Մարմնակրթական Ընդհանուր Միութիւն, meaning ''Armenian General Athletic Union'') is a pan-Armenian Armenian Diaspora, diaspora organization devoted to sport and scouting. Khoren Oganesian
Khoren Oganesian ( hy, Խորեն Հովհաննիսյան; born 10 January 1955), also known as Khoren Hovhannisyan, is a former Armenian and Soviet football player who played as a midfielder and current manager and coach. He was awarded the Master of Sport of the USSR, International Class title in 1976. Oganesian was a member of the USSR national football team and mostly played at club level for Soviet Top League and Armenian Premier League club Ararat Yerevan. He is widely considered a legend of Ararat and Armenian football in general. In official games of the USSR championships, Oganesian had 295 matches and scored 93 goals for Ararat. Gevorg Ghazaryan ( hy, Գևորգ Ղազարյան; born 5 April 1988) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or forward for the Armenia national team. Ghazaryan has participated in 73 international matches, scoring 14 goals since his debut on 14 January 2007. He previously played for Greek Super League clubs Olympiacos and Kerkyra, and earlier for Pyunik. Varazdat Haroyan ( hy, Վարազդատ Հարոյան, born on 24 August 1992) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as a central defender for Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta and the Armenia national team. Club career Patani and Pyunik Yerevan Varazdat Haroyan was born in Yerevan, and started football at the football school Pyunik Yerevan. In 2008, he played for Patani, for whom he made 17 appearances. Edgar Manucharyan ( hy, Էդգար Մանուչարյան, born 19 January 1987) is a former Armenian football player who played as a forward. Club career Ajax In early December 2004, Manucharyan joined Ajax Amsterdam. On 14 December, he took part in a friendly game against the Spanish club Barcelona playing 14 minutes before suffering a foot injury. As was later revealed in a medical examination, Manucharyan had broken the metatarsal bones in his right leg. Karlen Mkrtchyan ( hy, Կառլեն Մկրտչյան; born 25 November 1988) is an Armenian professional footballer who most recently played as a midfielder for FC Pyunik in the Armenian Premier League. Career Club Pyunik Karlen Mkrtchyan is a graduate the Armenian football club school Pyunik Yerevan. Since 2007, he played for the first team. In the 2008 Armenian Premier League he played in all 28 games, and also took part in the final match against Ararat Yerevan, in which Pyunik won the Premier League. Robert Arzumanyan (also called Arzoumanian) ( hy, Ռոբերտ Արզումանյան, born 24 July 1985 in Yerevan, Armenian SSR) is an Armenian former international footballer who played as a defender and current manager of FC Noah. Henrikh Mkhitaryan ( hy, Հենրիխ Մխիթարյան, ; born 21 January 1989) is an Armenian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for club Inter Milan. Armenia National Football Team
The Armenia national football team ( hy, Հայաստանի ֆուտբոլի ազգային հավաքական, ''Hayastani futboli azgayin havak'akan'') represents Armenia in association football and is controlled by the Football Federation of Armenia, the governing body for football in Armenia.
