Statistics of Armenian Premier League in the 1995/96 season. * FC Pyunik, Homenetmen Yerevan changed their name to FC Pyunik due to changes in the club ownership and sponsorship. * Yerazank FC disbanded and yielded their place to Lernayin Artsakh FC, Karabakh. Armenian Premier League
The Armenian Premier League (, known as the Armenian Fastex Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is the top association football, football competition in Armenia. From 1936 to 1991, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the USSR. Following Armenia's independence, the Football Federation of Armenia has been the governing authority of the league. Over the years, the league has evolved into a small league consisting of ten teams. The winner of the league is awarded a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. Aznavour FC
Aznavour FC (), is a defunct Armenian football club from Noyemberyan, Tavush Province. History The club was founded in 1981 as Pahatsoyagorts Noyemberyan FC and played their home games at the Noyemberyan Tsentralny Stadium. 1995–96 In Armenian Football
1995–96 in Armenian football was the fourth season of independent football after the split-up from the Soviet Union. It was the first of two seasons in Armenia that were different from the others. Including the 1996–97 season these were the only winter competitions, while all other Armenian seasons were summer competitions. The Armenian Premier League for 1995–96 consisted of 12 teams of which the lowest ranked team would relegate to the Armenian First League. The eleventh ranked team would face the second ranked team from the First League in a promotion/relegation play-off. Arthur Manukyan
Arthur Manukyan (; born July 4, 1985) is an Armenian director and producer, best known for producing and directing music videos of Armenian singers. He also directed dozens of television projects and events. Biography Arthur Manukyan was born on July 4, 1985, in Vagharshapat, Armenia. He finished Middle School in 2002 during which he was also attending to classes in Yerevan Dancing Art State College. He studied film directing in the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography (at the studio of Ruben Gevorgyants) from 2002 to 2008. Arthur Petrosyan
Artur Petrosyan (; born 17 December 1971) is an Armenian football coach and a former midfielder. He is the manager of Swiss club FC Thalwil. Playing career Petrosyan was the all-time leading scorer for the Armenia national team, having scored 11 goals, and had participated in 69 international matches since his debut in the national team's first game in a home friendly match against Moldova on 14 October 1992. Henrikh Mkhitaryan overtook Petrosyan as Armenia's all-time scorer in 2013. Managerial career Petrosyan worked as youth coach of FC Zürich, the last club he played for as a professional. Tigran Yesayan
Tigran Yesayan (, born 2 June 1972) is an Armenian football former player and coach. He played striker for the Armenia national team and for several Armenian Premier League clubs. Club career Tigran Yesayan began playing football in 1990 for Zoravana, which competed in the second minor league Soviet First League. Since 1992, Zoravana moved directly to the Armenian Premier League, in which the club finished bottom of the league and had its place relegated to the Armenian First League. However, after the season, Yesayan moved to Zvartnots Echmiadzin. After the end of the season, Yesayan again moved to Dinamo Yerevan, which played in the Armenian Premier League. Yesayan was among the top goalscorers for the team and scored 30 goals for Dinamo. This score was the best in the Armenian Premier League for the 1994 season. BKMA Yerevan
FC BKMA Yerevan ( or ; ''Banaki Kentronakan Marzakan Akumb Yerevan''; ) is an Armenian professional football club based in Yerevan. History During the days of the Soviet rule in Armenia, the Central Sport Club of the Army Yerevan was founded in 1947 in Yerevan. It was commonly known with its Russian abbreviation as CSKA Yerevan. After the independence of Armenia in 1991, the BKMA made their professional debut in domestic football competitions in the 1994 Armenian First League where they finished 3rd. In the 1995–96 Armenian First League season, they finished 2nd behind FC Arabkir, to get the opportunity to face Aragats Gyumri in the promotion play-off match in which they beat the Armenian Premier League side and were promoted for the following season. Halfway through the 1997 season, BKMA were folded and all their remaining matches were awarded 3–0 to their opponents, resulting in the 12th and last position and relegation.
