''Punk Goes Pop Vol. 7'' is the eighteenth compilation album in the '' Punk Goes...'' series by Fearless Records and the seventh installment in the Punk Goes Pop franchise. The album contains mainstream pop songs covered by thirteen bands from the pop punk, post-hardcore, metalcore, and alternative rock scenes. It was released via Fearless on July 14, 2017. Background and release On May 31, 2017, the Punk Goes... Facebook page went dark speculating that a new ''Punk Goes...'' album was on the way. Nobody knew it was going to be a new ''Punk Goes Pop'' album until a day later. On June 1, 2017 it was announced on all social media and the official ''Punk Goes...'' website that Punk Goes Pop Vol. 7 would be announced as the new album of 2017. This was the first new Punk Goes... album in three years the last being Punk Goes Pop Vol. 6 back in 2014. Punk Goes
''Punk Goes...'' is a series of pop albums released by Fearless Records in which punk rock bands perform covers of songs from other genres. As of 2019, the series consists of nineteen compilation albums. Though predominantly a series of cover albums, ''Punk Goes Acoustic'', ''Punk Goes Acoustic 2'', and '' Punk Goes Acoustic Vol. 3'' deviate from this theme, featuring acoustic versions of original songs by the featured bands. 2013's ''Punk Goes Christmas'' and 2015 rerelease of ''Punk Goes Christmas'' titled '' Punk Goes Christmas: Deluxe Edition'' features a mix of both Christmas-themed original songs and covers. Juliet Nicole Simms (born February 26, 1986), also known as Lilith Czar, is an American musician, songwriter, and entrepreneur. Andrew Dennis Biersack (born December 26, 1990), formerly known as Andy Six, is an American singer. He is the founder and lead vocalist of the rock band Black Veil Brides and is its only remaining original member.
