Pulau Bruit
Bruit Island ( ms, Pulau Bruit) is an island in Daro District, Mukah Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is located in the Rejang Delta, 150 km northwest of Kuching. With a population of around 9,342 and an area of 417 square kilometres, it is the second largest island in Malaysia after Banggi Island. History According to the book ''Sarawak and Its People'', Bruit Island was inhabited before 1830. Geography Bruit Island lies within the Rejang Delta, with the South China Sea to the north and west, Sarikei to the south and Kuala Matu to the east. The island is separated from the other islands in the Rejang delta and the mainland by the mouth of Batang Paloh ("batang" means river in the local language) on the south and Muara Lassa ("muara" means mouth of river) on the east. Currently, the island is connected to the surrounding mainland and towns by two ferry points; one at the southern end and the other on the eastern side. Daro District
The Daro District is a district in Mukah Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. The district contains the eponymous town of Daro. The nearest town to Daro is Matu. Daro is administered under the Majlis Daerah Matu-Daro (Matu-Daro District Council), which is also the local authority for Matu District. The population in Daro is 37,900 in 2020, with Melanau making up the majority. There were ferries from Sibu to here, taking around two hours by using the channel of Rejang River. Mukah Division
Mukah Division is one of the twelve administrative divisions in Sarawak, Malaysia. It was established on 1 March 2002 and it has a total area of 6,997.61 square kilometres. Mukah Division contains five administrative districts: Mukah, Dalat, Daro, Matu and Tanjung Manis District. The total population is 110,543. Sarikei
Sarikei is a town, and the capital of Sarikei District (985 square kilometres) in Sarikei Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. It is located on the Rajang River, near where the river empties into the South China Sea. The district population (year 2010 census) was 56,798. Kuala Matu
Kuala is a town and administrative district of Langkat Regency in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. It borders Selesai to the north, Salapian to the west, and Sei Bingai to the south and east.
