Protoje
Oje Ken Ollivierre (born 14 June 1981), popularly known as Protoje, is a contemporary reggae singer and songwriter from Jamaica. Easy Star Records is an American independent record label founded in 1996. Based in New York City, the label primarily produces and releases albums in the genres of reggae and dub. Sevana
Anna-Sharé Blake (born 1991), known professionally as Sevana, is a Jamaican singer, actress, and model. As part of Protoje's In.Digg.Nation Collective, Sevana released her self-titled EP in 2016. She made her major label debut in 2020 with ''Be Somebody''. Life and career 1991–2014: Early life Sevana was born Anna-Sharé Blake in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, Jamaica, in 1991. When she was young, she was originally interested in becoming a doctor. In 2008, at 16 years old, Sevana entered the local music competition '' Digicel Rising Stars'' with two friends from her school and formed the girl group SLR. Their group advanced into the top ten of the competition and ultimately placed in third. SLR broke up the next year in 2009, and Sevana went on a hiatus from music. Jesse Royal (musician)
Jesse David Royal (born 29 April 1989) is a Jamaican reggae musician. Early life Jesse Royal (Jesse David Leroi Grey) was born in St James Parish, Jamaica to a family of Maroon ancestry and Rasta faith. The Royal family relocated to Kingston in 1997 where his father took a job with a telecommunications firm. While in school Royal became friends with Daniel Bambata Marley, son of reggae artist Ziggy Marley. Music career Early life (2010–2016) Royal began his career being mentored by the late Fatis Burrell (the father of one of Royal's classmates), who produced Jesse's first two releases, ''Singing the Blues'' and ''Long Days and Short Nights'' in 2010. Lila Iké
Lila Iké (Alecia Tameka Grey born 1994, Christiana) is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter. After releasing multiple singles, Iké released her debut studio album ''The ExPerience'' in May 2020. Career Grey was born in Christiana, Manchester, Jamaica where she attended Manchester High School and graduated in 2011. She enrolled at Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville until 2015. She attempted to return to school at The University of the West Indies, but has stopped to pursue musical career. After moving to Kingston, she began singing under the moniker Lila Music which evolved to Lila Iké based on Nigerian name Ikéchukwu, which means "power of God." Ky-Mani Marley (born 26 February 1976) is a Jamaican singer and musician. His name is of East African origin, and means "Adventurous Traveler". He is the only child of Bob Marley with Anita Belnavis, a Jamaican table tennis champion. In 2001, he received a Grammy Award nomination for his album, '' Many More Roads''. Reggae () is a music genre that originated in Jamaica in the late 1960s. The term also denotes the modern popular music of Jamaica and its diaspora. A 1968 single by Toots and the Maytals, " Do the Reggay" was the first popular song to use the word "reggae", effectively naming the genre and introducing it to a global audience.
