Lila Iké
Lila Iké (born Alecia Tameka Grey; January 23, 1994) is a Jamaican reggae singer and songwriter. After releasing multiple singles, Iké released her debut studio album ''The ExPerience'' in May 2020. Career Grey was born in Christiana, Manchester, Jamaica where she attended Manchester High School, Jamaica, Manchester High School and graduated in 2011. She enrolled at Northern Caribbean University in Mandeville until 2015. She attempted to return to school at The University of the West Indies, but has stopped to pursue musical career. After moving to Kingston, Jamaica, Kingston, she began singing under the moniker Lila Music which evolved to Lila Iké based on Nigerian name Ikéchukwu, which means "power of God." In 2017, she signed with Protoje's In.Digg.Nation label. In 2019, She toured Europe, including Rototom Sunsplash and Bersenbrück#Reggae Jam, Reggae Jam. She also opened for Protoje on his U.S. tour. Reggae Geel () is a reggae, reggae music festival that takes place in Geel, Belgium, typically on the first Friday of August, with reggae deejays and reggae sound system, sound systems, followed by the main festival on the following Saturday. Oje Ken Ollivierre (born 14 June 1981), popularly known as Protoje, is a Jamaican of Afro-European heritage, a contemporary reggae singer and songwriter. Mikayla Victoria Simpson (born February 16, 2000), who performs under the stage name Original Koffee, is a Jamaican singer, songwriter, rapper, and guitarist from Spanish Town. She released her debut single "Burning" in 2017, and signed with Columbia Records after releasing another single the following year. Her 2019 debut EP ''Rapture'' won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, making Koffee both the youngest person and only woman to be awarded in the Best Reggae Album category. Rototom Sunsplash is a large European reggae festival founded in 1994 in Gaio di Spilimbergo (Pordenone, Italy), and since 2010 held in Benicàssim, a few miles north of Valencia, Spain. It attracts thousands of fans from all over the world, thanks to a cultural and musical program that lasts for up to ten days. History 1991–1999: Rototom Association and the clubs in Gaio and Zoppola The birthplace of the festival is the small Italian town of Gaio di Spilimbergo, province of Pordenone, in the region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, close to Venice. On 13 December 1991, the Rototom Cultural Association was born and with it a nightclub of the same name. It was an alternative music scene showcasing various styles from punk rock to reggae, indie, and electronic music.
