''Press the Eject and Give Me the Tape'' is a live album by the British gothic rock band Bauhaus, released in 1982 on Beggars Banquet Records, and recorded in London and Liverpool in 1981 and 1982. Content The album cover is a photograph by Eugene Merinov. Release The album was originally a bonus disc with the initial limited edition of the 1982 studio album ''The Sky's Gone Out''. Later in the year it was released as a separate album, with initial copies receiving a free single and poster pack. The "Satori in Paris" single features live versions of "Double Dare" and "Hair of the Dog" not recorded at the same gigs from the album, the poster being a montage of the band's history on stage and beyond. Bauhaus (band)
Bauhaus are an English rock band formed in Northampton in 1978. Known for their dark image and gloomy sound, Bauhaus are best known as one of the pioneers of gothic rock, although they mixed many genres, including dub, glam rock, psychedelia, and funk. The group consists of Daniel Ash (guitar, saxophone), Peter Murphy (vocals, occasional instruments), Kevin Haskins (drums) and David J (bass). "Dark Entries" is a song by the English gothic rock band Bauhaus, released as a stand-alone single in January 1980 by Axis (an early name for 4AD) and later issued on 4AD and Beggars Banquet. It features the 1944 painting '' Sleeping Venus'' by Paul Delvaux as cover art. Content Dave Thompson of AllMusic noted that the "Dark Entries" was outside of the band's normal reputation, being "far punkier" and played at a "breakneck pace". The Royal Court Theatre is a theatre located at 1 Roe Street in Liverpool, England. The current Royal Court Theatre was opened on 17 October 1938, after fire destroyed its predecessor. It was rebuilt in Art Deco style and soon became Liverpool's premier theatre. The interior of the building has a nautical theme, in line with Liverpool's seafaring traditions. The design of the basement lounge is based on the Cunard liner ''Queen Mary''. There are three viewing levels within the main auditorium: the Stalls, the Grand Circle and the Balcony. John Davies Cale (born 9 March 1942) is a Welsh musician, composer, singer, songwriter and record producer who was a founding member of the American rock band the Velvet Underground.
