Postcards From London
''Postcards from London'' is a 2018 British drama film directed by Steve McLean. It is McLean's follow-up to his 1994 film '' Post Cards from America'', which he based on the work of David Wojnarowicz. The film follows a teenage boy Jim (played by Harris Dickinson), who escapes his rural Essex town for London, only to find himself involved with a team of high-class gay escorts in Soho. Plot At the National Gallery, an art tour guide is presenting a 16th-century Titian painting when Jim approaches the painting, and upon touching it, faints. Small-town Jim has come to Soho, London, to experience art, music and culture. While sleeping on the street, he is robbed. A barmaid, who describes him as having the face of an angel, sends him to a gay bar where David, Jesus, Marcello and Victor find him perfect to join their vocation. Harris Dickinson (born 24 June 1996) is an English actor. He began his career with a starring role in the drama ''Beach Rats'' (2017), for which he was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead. Pink Apple is the biggest gay & lesbian film festival in Switzerland and takes place every springtime in Zürich and Frauenfeld. History In 1997 the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Pink Apple was founded by a handful of film enthusiasts in Frauenfeld, a small city in the Canton of Thurgau in Eastern Switzerland. The Swiss ”Apple Canton“, also nicknamed ”Cider India“ because of its many apple trees, was the reason for its naming. BFI Flare: London LGBTIQ+ Film Festival, formerly known as the London Lesbian and Gay Film Festival (LLGFF), is the biggest LGBTIQ+ film festival in Europe. It takes place every spring in London, England. It began in 1986, as a season of gay and lesbian films at the National Film Theatre for two years, under the title "Gay's Own Pictures", curated by Peter Packer of the Tyneside Cinema.
