Saetia
Saetia (pronounced ''SAY-shuh'') is a New York City-based screamo band. Their name originates from a misspelling of the Miles Davis track "Saeta", from his album ''Sketches of Spain''. While relatively unknown during their initial existence, the band is now seen as one of the most critically lauded bands of the late-1990s screamo scene. Stewart Mason of AllMusic described their music as an "essential document" for fans of screamo. History 1997–1999: Formation, ''Saetia'' and breakup Saetia initially formed in February 1997 when each of its members were attending New York University. The band had numerous members throughout its existence, with frequent changes in membership. Screaming (music)
Screaming is an extended vocal technique that is popular in "aggressive" music genres such as heavy metal, punk rock, and noise music and others. It is common in the more extreme subgenres of heavy metal, such as death and black metal as well as many other subgenres. Genres Classical and experimental music Although screams are often suggested in stories performed in the grand opera tradition, they were never performed literally, always being sung. The first significant example of an actual scream in an opera is in Alban Berg's '' Wozzeck'' (1922), where the eponymous character screams "Murder! Murder!" in the fourth scene of Act III. Orchid (hardcore Punk Band)
Orchid was an American Screamo/hardcore punk band from Amherst, Massachusetts. Active from 1997 until 2002, they released several EPs and splits as well as three studio albums. The band consisted of lead vocalist Jayson Green, drummer Jeffrey Salane, guitarist Will Killingsworth and bassist Geoff Garlock. In 1999 Orchid released their first record '' Chaos Is Me'' and a year after in 2000 released '' Dance Tonight! Revolution Tomorrow!'' In July 2002 they released their third studio album ''Gatefold'' and later in the year, in September, Orchid released a compilation of both their first and second albums onto CD containing all 21 tracks from both. After the release of both they split up.
