Tréméloir
Tréméloir (; ) is a former commune in the Côtes-d'Armor department of Brittany in northwestern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the commune Pordic. Population The town experienced significant depopulation at the beginning of the 20th century: its population of roughly 700 fell to less than 400 by the beginning of the 1980s as its inhabitants moved to the countryside. Since then, however, the population has grown dramatically, mostly due to an influx of young people looking for cheaper housing than was available in Saint-Brieuc. In 2007, the population was once again estimated at 700 people. The local primary school, which had closed in 1986 due to lack of demand, was reopened on 30 August 2007 with 78 students in three classes. Hayle
Hayle ( kw, Heyl, "estuary") is a port town and civil parish in west Cornwall, England. It is situated at the mouth of the Hayle River (which discharges into St Ives Bay) and is approximately seven miles (11 km) northeast of Penzance. Hayle parish was created in 1888 from part of the now defunct Phillack parish, with which it was later combined in 1935, and incorporated part of St Erth in 1937. Gallo Language
Gallo is a regional language of eastern Brittany. It is one of the langues d'oïl, a Romance sub-family that includes French. Today it is spoken only by a minority of the population, as the standard form of French now predominates in this area. Gallo was originally spoken in the Marches of Neustria, an area now corresponding to the border lands between Brittany, Normandy, and Maine. Gallo was a shared spoken language among many of those who took part in the Norman conquest of England, most of whom originated in Upper (i.e. eastern) Brittany and Lower (i.e. western) Normandy, and thus had its part, together with the much bigger role played by the Norman language, in the development of the Anglo-Norman variety of French which would have such a strong influence on English.
