Saint-Brieuc Armor Agglomération () is the ''communauté d'agglomération'', an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Saint-Brieuc. It is located in the Côtes-d'Armor department, in the Brittany region, western France. It was created in January 2017. Saint-Brieuc (, Breton language, Breton: ''Sant-Brieg'' , Gallo language, Gallo: ''Saent-Berioec'') is a city in the Côtes-d'Armor Departments of France, department in Brittany (administrative region), Brittany in northwestern France. History Saint-Brieuc is named after a Wales, Welsh monk, Saint Brioc, Brioc, who Christianised the region in the 5th century and established an oratory there. Évêché de Saint-Brieuc, Bro Sant-Brieg/Pays de Saint-Brieuc, one of the nine traditional bishoprics of Brittany, which were used as administrative areas before the French Revolution, was named after Saint-Brieuc. It also dates from the Middle Ages when the ‘pays de Saint Brieuc’, or Penteur, was established by Duke Arthur II of Brittany as one of his eight ‘battles’ or administrative regions. Quintin
Quintin (; ) is a commune in the Cotes-d'Armor department (Brittany region) in the northwest of France from Saint-Brieuc, the department capital. History The area around Quintin has been occupied since the Neolithic. Early Quintin was originally located near Vieux-Bourg but, following a plague epidemic, the city moved to its current location. Quintin in Roman times was located on a crossroads but significantly developed in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, due to the weaving industry and the trade of linen cloth. Still, the decline came with the French Revolution and cotton gradually taking the lead over linen. At the height Quintin had 300 weavers. Quintin was also a monastic center. But despite its monuments and mansions that one can still see the city, it no longer has the importance it once had.
