The Dewan Rakyat (English: 'House of Representatives'; ) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament, the federal legislature of Malaysia. The chamber and its powers are established by Article 44 of the Constitution of Malaysia. Zainon Munshi Sulaiman
Zainon binti Sulaiman (22 January 1903 – 2 April 1989), sometimes known as Zainon Munshi Sulaiman because her father was a language teacher or "munshi", also called Hajjah Zain or Ibu Zain, was a Malaysian educator and politician. Born in Malacca, the sixth of eight children, she received a good education through the efforts of her father, Munshi Sulaiman. In 1909 she became a pupil at the Methodist Girls' School, Tengkera, going on to Tengkera School for her secondary education in 1913. By the age of seventeen, she was running her own informal kindergarten at Pasuh Jaya Waras in Negeri Sembilan. In 1921, she became a teacher at Bandar Maharani Girls' School in Muar, where in 1924 she became head teacher. In 1927 she was appointed Supervisor of Malay Girls' Schools in the state of Johor. The Alliance Party ( ms, Parti Perikatan) was a political coalition in Malaysia. Ali Ahmad (politician)
Dato' Ali bin Haji Ahmad (29 June 1930 – 4 December 1977) was a Malaysian politician. Political career Ali was first elected to Parliament when he won the Pontian Selatan seat in the 1964 Malaysian general election under the Alliance ticket, a seat he successfully defended in the 1969 Malaysian general election unopposed. Ali was the UMNO Division chief of Pontian after Pontian Selatan and Pontian Utara Parliamentary seat were merged before 1974 Malaysian general election. In the election, he won the newly created seat, Pontian by a walkover. Ali was first appointed as Parliamentary Secretary to the then finance minister, Tan Siew Sin on 1965, in the third Tunku Abdul Rahman cabinet.
