Pleasant View is a city on the northern edge of Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 7,979 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ogden– Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is a suburban community of Ogden. History Considered part of North Ogden for its first 30 years, Pleasant View was known during its early days by several names, including West District, Hot Springs District, Stringtown, or simply Out West. The city was officially named Pleasant View in 1882 by Wilford Cragun, one of the first white children born in the area. Mary Lake, daughter of William Bailey Lake and Sarah Jane Marler was born in North Ogden, 15 December 1851. Other early settlers were Thomas Dunn, John Mower, and Simeon Cragun families. North Ogden, Utah
North Ogden is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 20,916 at the 2020 census. North Ogden is on SR-235, three miles north of Ogden. It is a suburb of that city and is part of the Ogden- Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Among the first people to dwell in the North Ogden area were the Shoshone. The Shoshone name for the area is “Opecarry,” which translates to “stick in the head.” North Ogden was settled by European-American settlers during the winter of 1850 by two sets of cattle ranchers from Ogden. The Campbells and the Riddles had been warned by Brigham Young not to venture from the fort in Ogden due to the troubles with the local Shoshone. Harrisville is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 5,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ogden– Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area. The current mayor is Michelle Tait. History The first permanent settlement at Harrisville was made in 1850. A post office called Harrisville was established in 1871, and remained in operation until 1902. The community was named after Martin H. Harris, a pioneer settler. Mantua ( or ) is a town on the eastern edge Box Elder County, Utah, United States. The population of the town was 687 at the 2010 census. History Mantua was settled in the mid-19th century when members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were sent by Lorenzo Snow to the valley to grow flax. The first group arrived in Mantua in 1863 (although a sign at the main entry route states "Founded 1864"), and were all émigrés from Denmark led by Hans Jens Jensen. Snow was from Mantua, Ohio, and the town was named after the Ohio community in his honor. Willard is a city in Box Elder County, Utah, United States. The population was 1,772 at the 2010 census. Geography Willard is located in southeastern Box Elder County and is bordered by the city of Perry to the north and the unincorporated community of South Willard to the south. The east edge of the city is bordered by Cache National Forest in the Wasatch Range, and the west side extends into Willard Bay, a freshwater reservoir built out of the Great Salt Lake. Pleasant View is a commuter rail station in Pleasant View, Utah, formerly served by the FrontRunner, Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) commuter rail train that operates along the Wasatch Front with service from Ogden in central Weber County through Davis County, Salt Lake City, and Salt Lake County to Provo in central Utah County. UTA announced that FrontRunner service to and from the Pleasant View station was to be suspended indefinitely with the schedule valid from August 12, 2018. As trains to Pleasant View station only operated Monday to Friday, the last train operated August 10, 2018.
