Pitsford And Brampton Railway Station
Pitsford and Brampton railway station is a railway station serving the villages of Pitsford and Chapel Brampton in Northamptonshire, England. The station was once an intermediate stop on the Northampton-Market Harborough railway line, which closed in 1981. The station has now been revived as the headquarters of a heritage railway called the Northampton & Lamport Railway. History The London and North Western Railway originally favoured a site close to where the line crossed the road to Welford, which later became Boughton level crossing. The people of Boughton made representations to the company to try to ensure that it was built there. However, the Earl Spencer wanted the station to be built at the point where the road between Chapel Brampton and Pitsford crossed the line. Boughton is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England. It is situated approximately from Northampton town centre along the A508 road between Northampton and Market Harborough. The parish area straddles both sides of the road, but the main part of the village is to the east. Northampton () is a market town and civil parish in the East Midlands of England, on the River Nene, north-west of London and south-east of Birmingham. Northampton Railway Station
Northampton railway station serves the county town of Northampton in England. It is on the Northampton Loop of the West Coast Main Line. The station is served by West Midlands Trains services southbound to London Euston and northbound to Birmingham New Street and Crewe. A handful of Avanti West Coast services also serve the station, however, these have been greatly reduced due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The station was known as Northampton Castle until 1966, as it is built on the site of the former castle of the same name. A proposed reinstatement of the Northampton Castle name following redevelopment of the station in 2015 did not take place. Facilities The station has toilets, a newsagent, coffee shops, and a car hire office. As part of the re-development in 2015 there were proposals to build a multi-storey car park with direct access to the station. Spratton railway station is a former railway station which served the village of Spratton in Northamptonshire, England. The station was once an intermediate stop on the Northampton–Market Harborough line, which closed in 1981. A section of the route at Pitsford and Brampton station has now been revived as the headquarters of a heritage railway called the Northampton & Lamport Railway. The preservation society which operates the line has a Light Railway Order up to and including Spratton, and it is likely a station will be rebuilt there in the future. Boughton Railway Station
Boughton is the name of station under construction on the Northampton & Lamport Railway, which is built on the former Northampton to Market Harborough line. It is situated at the southern end of line adjacent to the former Boughton level crossing on the A5199. It is likely that Boughton will be the terminus of the railway for some time as to replace the level crossing will require large amounts of time and money. The station consists of a platform and run-round loop, with associated signalling controlled from a new signal box which was formerly installed at Betley Road near Crewe. Church Brampton Railway Station
Church Brampton was a railway station on the Northampton Loop Line serving the village of Church Brampton in Northamptonshire. The station was opened on 13 May 1912, to serve the villages of Church Brampton and Harlestone, but primarily the newly opened Northamptonshire Golf Club. It was opened by the London & North Western Railway, which became the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1923. The station had a short life of only 19 years, it was closed on 18 May 1931; the reason for the closure was stated to be that most golfers by then arrived by car. All traces of the station were removed when the line was electrified in the 1960s.
