Church Brampton Railway Station
Church Brampton was a railway station on the Northampton Loop Line serving the village of Church Brampton in Northamptonshire. The station was opened on 13 May 1912, to serve the villages of Church Brampton and Harlestone, but primarily the newly opened Northamptonshire Golf Club. It was opened by the London & North Western Railway, which became the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1923. The station had a short life of only 19 years, it was closed on 18 May 1931; the reason for the closure was stated to be that most golfers by then arrived by car. All traces of the station were removed when the line was electrified in the 1960s. Church Brampton
Church Brampton is a village in West Northamptonshire in England. Together with nearby Chapel Brampton the two villages are known as '' The Bramptons''. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish's population was 251 people. At the 2011 census the population was included in the civil parish of Church with Chapel Brampton. The villages name means ' Broom farm/settlement'. Its church, St. Botolph's, dates back to the early 13th century. Northampton Railway Station
Northampton railway station serves the county town of Northampton in England. It is on the Northampton Loop of the West Coast Main Line. The station is served by West Midlands Trains services southbound to London Euston and northbound to Birmingham New Street and Crewe. A handful of Avanti West Coast services also serve the station, however, these have been greatly reduced due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United Kingdom. The station was known as Northampton Castle until 1966, as it is built on the site of the former castle of the same name. A proposed reinstatement of the Northampton Castle name following redevelopment of the station in 2015 did not take place. Facilities The station has toilets, a newsagent, coffee shops, and a car hire office. As part of the re-development in 2015 there were proposals to build a multi-storey car park with direct access to the station. Pitsford and Brampton railway station is a railway station serving the villages of Pitsford and Chapel Brampton in Northamptonshire, England. The station was once an intermediate stop on the Northampton- Market Harborough railway line, which closed in 1981. The station has now been revived as the headquarters of a heritage railway called the Northampton & Lamport Railway. History The London and North Western Railway originally favoured a site close to where the line crossed the road to Welford, which later became Boughton level crossing. The people of Boughton made representations to the company to try to ensure that it was built there. However, the Earl Spencer wanted the station to be built at the point where the road between Chapel Brampton and Pitsford crossed the line. West Northamptonshire is a unitary authority area covering part of the ceremonial county of Northamptonshire, England, created in 2021. By far the largest settlement in West Northamptonshire is the county town of Northampton. Its other significant towns are Daventry, Brackley and Towcester; the rest of the area is predominantly agricultural villages though it has many lakes and small woodlands and is passed through by the West Coast Main Line and the M1 and M40 motorways, thus hosting a relatively high number of hospitality attractions as well as distribution centres as these are key English transport routes.
