Pieter Litjens
Pieter Jan Marie Litjens (born 17 May 1968) is a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). He is an Alderman in Amsterdam since 18 June 2014. Litjens previously served as an Alderman for the Amsterdam borough Zuidoost from April 2002 until August 2006. He was selected as the Mayor of Aalsmeer serving from 15 August 2007 until 20 September 2012 when he was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands after the Dutch general election of 2012. After the Dutch municipal elections of 2014 he became an Alderman in Amsterdam on 18 June 2014. Biography Early life Pieter Jan Marie Litjens was born on 17 May 1968 in Utrecht in the Netherlands Province of Utrecht. House Of Representatives (Netherlands)
The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Generally, the house is located in the Binnenhof in The Hague, however, it has temporarily moved to the former building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 in the Hague while the Binnenhof is being renovated. An alderman is a member of a municipal assembly or council in many jurisdictions founded upon English law. The term may be titular, denoting a high-ranking member of a borough or county council, a council member chosen by the elected members themselves rather than by popular vote, or a council member elected by voters. Habbo Siebold "Hayke" Veldman (born 5 November 1969) is a Dutch politician, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy from 25 June 2014 until 30 March 2021. Life Veldman was born on 5 November 1969 in Zoetermeer. After attending high school in Rosmalen, he proceeded to study history at the Radboud University Nijmegen between 1989 and 1995. VNO-NCW (known in English as the "Confederation of Netherlands Industry and Employers") is a Dutch employers' federation founded in 1996 as a merger of the Christian-democratic ''Nederlands Christelijk Werkgeversverbond'' (NCW), which was founded as fusion of the Protestant PCW and the Catholic NKW, and the liberal ''Verbond van Nederlandse Ondernemingen'' (VNO). Both organizations had strong ties with the Protestant and liberal pillar, respectively.
