Hayke Veldman
Habbo Siebold "Hayke" Veldman (born 5 November 1969) is a Dutch politician, he was a member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands for the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy from 25 June 2014 until 30 March 2021. Life Veldman was born on 5 November 1969 in Zoetermeer. After attending high school in Rosmalen, he proceeded to study history at the Radboud University Nijmegen between 1989 and 1995. Veldman worked as a policy worker for the municipalities of Geldermalsen, Eindhoven, Arnhem and Helmond between 1996 and 2010. He was member of the municipal council of Nijmegen from 16 March 2006 until 9 July 2014. On 25 June 2014 he entered the House of Representatives when he replaced Pieter Litjens Pieter Jan Marie Litjens (born 17 May 1968) is a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). The House of Representatives (, pronounced ; commonly referred to as the ', literally "Second Chamber of the States General") is the lower house of the bicameral parliament of the Netherlands, the States General, the other one being the Senate. It has 150 seats, which are filled through elections using party-list proportional representation. Generally, the house is located in the Binnenhof in The Hague, however, it has temporarily moved to the former building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Bezuidenhoutseweg 67 in the Hague while the Binnenhof is being renovated. The COVID-19 pandemic in the Netherlands has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. The virus reached the Netherlands on 27 February 2020, when its first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Tilburg. Pieter Jan Marie Litjens (born 17 May 1968) is a Dutch politician of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD). He is an Alderman in Amsterdam since 18 June 2014. Litjens previously served as an Alderman for the Amsterdam borough Zuidoost from April 2002 until August 2006. He was selected as the Mayor of Aalsmeer serving from 15 August 2007 until 20 September 2012 when he was elected as a Member of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands after the Dutch general election of 2012. Zoetermeer () is a city in the Western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of of which is water. A small village until the late 1960s, it had 6,392 inhabitants in 1950.
