Phil Hester (comics)
Phil Hester (born 1966) is an American comic book artist, penciller and writer. Early life Phil Hester is an alumnus of the University of Iowa. He is originally from North English, Iowa. Career Hester's pencilling credits include ''Swamp Thing, Brave New World, Flinch, Ultimate Marvel Team-Up, Clerks: The Lost Scene, The Crow: Waking Nightmares, The Wretch'' (nominated for the 1997 Eisner Award for Best New Series), ''Aliens: Purge'', and ''Green Arrow''. During his run on ''Green Arrow'', he created the characters Mia Dearden and Onomatopoeia with writer Kevin Smith as well as Constantine Drakon with writer Judd Winick. Hester co-created ''Uncle Slam and Firedog'' with his ''Green Arrow'' collaborator, artist Ande Parks. He also created El Diablo, a new character (with a common name in DC Comics) who debuted in an eponymous limited series. His last comic 13 Steps will adapted in a Comedy Horror film. Project Superpowers
''Project Superpowers'' is a comic book limited series published by Dynamite Entertainment beginning January 2008. It was co-plotted by Jim Krueger and Alex Ross, with scripts by Jim Krueger, covers by Alex Ross, and interior art by Doug Klauba and Stephen Sadowski for issue #0, and Carlos Paul for the remainder of the series. Ross is also art director, which includes sketched pages, color guides, and redesigns of most of the characters. There was a new series in 2018 with Rob Williams as the writers and Sergio Davila as the artist. A new series called ''Project Superpowers: Fractured States'' will debut in April with writers Ron Marz, Andy Lanning and artist Emilio Utrera. The Creeper (Jack Ryder) is a superhero created by Steve Ditko and Don Segall for DC Comics. He is portrayed as a journalist and talk show host, usually living in Gotham City, who gains the ability to transform into the superhuman the Creeper (and vice versa) thanks to experimental science developed by Dr. Yatz. The Atheist (comics)
''The Atheist'' is a horror comic book originally released in April 2005 and is published by Image Comics. Phil Hester, of ''The Wretch'' and Green Arrow, wrote ''The Atheist'', while Irish John McCrea of ''Hitman'' provided the black and white artwork. The storyline revolves around present day humans that are having their bodies being "possessed" by the souls from Hell similar to the possessions in the 1950s horror movie ''The Invasion of the Body Snatchers''. The souls from Hell then begin an extremely hedonistic and malicious lifestyle that includes raves, drugs, self-mutilation, murder, and other violence. Teddy And The Yeti
''Teddy and the Yeti'' is an American comic book series created by Jeff McClelland and Duane Readhead. Published by Wagon Wheel Comics, the serialized story features a robot and a yeti who defend Earth from external threats. The first issue of the ongoing series was released on December 30, 2009 as part of Indy Comic Book Week. The concept of the book was developed because McClelland liked the rhyming title. Publication history Teddy and the Yeti first appeared in the anthology '' Josh Howard Presents: Sasquatch'' from Viper Comics April 15, 2007. The story, titled "Presidents and Precedence" and printed in black and white, was a late addition to the book, added after another creative team dropped out, leaving an open spot. Swamp Thing
The Swamp Thing is a superhero in American comic books published by DC Comics. A humanoid/plant elemental List of swamp monsters, creature, created by writer Len Wein and artist Bernie Wrightson, the Swamp Thing has had several humanoid or monster incarnations in various different storylines.
