Phibbs Exchange
Phibbs Exchange is a major transit exchange in the District of North Vancouver, British Columbia. Part of the TransLink system, it is home to routes serving North Vancouver and some parts of the city of Vancouver. Opened on October 19, 1973, it is one of the four major transit exchanges on the North Shore (the others being Capilano University Exchange, Lonsdale Quay and Park Royal Exchange). The exchange is named after Charles J.P. Phibbs. Structure and location Phibbs Exchange is located directly next to the northern foot of the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge, which connects North Vancouver to East Vancouver and Burnaby. It can accommodate regular-length and articulated diesel buses and community shuttle buses only. The exchange is also located a short distance from Capilano University and North Shore Studios. Capilano University
Capilano University (CapU) is a teaching-focused public university based in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, located on the slopes of the North Shore Mountains, with programming that also serves the Sea-to-Sky Corridor and the Sunshine Coast. The university is named after Chief Joe Capilano Sa7plek (Sahp-luk) who was the leader of the Squamish people (Sḵwx̱wú7mesh) from 1895 to 1910. Kootenay Loop
Kootenay Loop is a bus loop in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is the easternmost major transit exchange in the city of Vancouver, with routes serving Vancouver, Burnaby, North Vancouver and the Tri-Cities. Structure and location Kootenay Loop opened on August 20, 1950, and is located on East Hastings Street at its intersection with Kootenay Street. It is less than from Vancouver's border with the city of Burnaby. It is near the Pacific National Exhibition grounds and the Second Narrows Bridge to North Vancouver. It is located just northwest of the Burnaby Transit Centre, which houses the public transit buses for Burnaby. Grouse Mountain
Grouse Mountain is one of the North Shore Mountains of the Pacific Ranges in the District Municipality of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. With a maximum elevation of over 1,200m (4,100ft) at its peak, the mountain is the site of an alpine ski area, Grouse Mountain Resort, which overlooks Metro Vancouver and has four chairlifts servicing 33 runs. In the summer, Grouse Mountain Resort features lumberjack shows, the "Birds in Motion" birds of prey demonstration, a scenic chairlift ride, disc golf, mountain biking, zip lining, tandem paragliding, helicopter tours, and guided ecowalks. Deep Cove, North Vancouver
Deep Cove refers to the community in the easternmost part of the District of North Vancouver, in British Columbia, Canada, and is also the geographic name of the small bay beside the town. Burrard Station
Burrard is an underground station on the Expo Line of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located in Downtown Vancouver on Burrard Street, where Melville and Dunsmuir Streets meet, and is the western terminus of the R5 Hastings St that provides service to Simon Fraser University. The station serves Vancouver's financial district and is within walking distance of the Coal Harbour and West End neighbourhoods. Joyce–Collingwood Station
Joyce–Collingwood (formerly Joyce) is an elevated station on the Expo Line, a part of Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit system. The station is located on Joyce Street at Vanness Avenue, in the Renfrew–Collingwood neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. History The station was designed by the Austrian architecture firm Architektengruppe U-Bahn and opened in 1985 as "Joyce station" on the original Expo Line. RapidBus is an express bus network with bus rapid transit elements in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. History On November 23, 2016, the Mayors' Council and TransLink's board of directors approved the first phase of the 10-Year Vision, which included provisions for new B-Line routes (later rebranded as RapidBus) which began service in January 2020. In July 2019, TransLink announced that all future B-Line routes would officially be launched under new "RapidBus" branding and that the 95 and 96 B-Lines would also transition to that branding, leaving route 99 as the only remaining B-Line. A park and ride, also known as incentive parking or a commuter lot, is a parking lot with public transport connections that allows commuting, commuters and other people heading to city centres to leave their vehicles and transfer to a bus, Rail transport, rail system (rapid transit, light rail, or commuter rail), or carpool for the remainder of the journey. The vehicle is left in the parking lot during the day and retrieved when the owner returns.
