Peñafiel, Spain
Peñafiel is a town in the Valladolid Province and the greater autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is best known for the Peñafiel Castle and for its medieval square used for bullfights and named " Plaza del Coso" (English: "Bullring Square"). The square is surrounded by private homes, but since medieval times the rights to use their windows, balconies and doorways during bullfights are owned by the town (see easement), which auctions them to the highest bidders. The town is full of deep excavated caveswhich were traditionally used to store the wine because of the constant temperature they kept all year around. These caves have chimney vents for ventilation and to evacuate the gases generated by the fermentation of the wine. These chimney vents dot the landscape in and around the town and the castle. Plaza Del Coso
The Plaza del Coso is an urban plaza in the locality of Peñafiel, in Valladolid Province, in the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. During the year it serves as a bullring during the Festival of San Roque in August, and provides a place for the Descent of the Angel Festival (''Bajada del Ángel''), on Resurrection Sunday. The square is commonly known as "Corro" or "Corro of the Bulls", and has been documented as existing since the Middle Ages. Escalona
Escalona is a municipality located in the north part of the province of Toledo, which in turn is part of the autonomous community of Castile-La Mancha, Spain. According to the 2017 census (INE), the municipality has a population of 3,240 inhabitants, most of whom are settled in several housing estates such as Ribera del Alberche, Miragredos or Castillo de Escalona. Villena () is a city in Spain, in the Valencian Community. It is located at the northwest part of Alicante (province), Alicante, and borders to the west with Castilla-La Mancha and Region of Murcia, Murcia, to the north with the province of Valencia and to the east and south with the province of Alicante. Ribera Del Duero
Ribera del Duero is a Spanish Denominación de Origen Protegida (DOP) located in the country's northern plateau and is one of eleven 'quality wine' regions within the autonomous community of Castile and León. It is also one of several recognised wine-producing regions to be found along the course of the Duero river. Peñafiel Castle
Peñafiel Castle is located in Peñafiel, Valladolid Province, Spain. The castle is more than long and encloses an area about wide. Standing in the middle is a high three storey keep. Fernan Gonzalez began construction on the Peñafiel site in 947, as a frontier outpost in defense against the Arabs. A castle was built in 1013 by Sancho Garcia to protect the land. Several other members of the Spanish nobility added to the castle including Juan Manuel and Pedro Girón. Blanche I, Queen of Navarre gave birth to the Charles, Prince of Viana in the keep of Peñafiel in 1421.
