Petra (TV Series)
''Petra'' (German: ''Mord in Genua – Ein Fall für Petra Delicato'') is an Italian four-part television crime series, which premiered on September 14, 2020, on Sky Italia. It is based on four detective novels by Spanish writer, Alicia Giménez Bartlett, featuring the character, Petra Delicado. The TV series was directed by Maria Sole Tognazzi. The main protagonist, Petra Delicato (Paola Cortellesi) is an Inspector for the Genoa police, originally working as an archivist. She is assisted by Deputy Inspector Antonio Monte ( Andrea Pennacchi). The series was broadcast in Germany as ''Mord in Genua – Ein Fall für Petra Delicato'' from December 6, 2020, in Australia via SBS OnDemand streaming service, and in the United States on MHz Choice from November 2022. Alicia Giménez Bartlett
Alicia Giménez Bartlett (born 10 June 1951 in Almansa, Albacete, Spain) is a Spanish writer particularly known for her series of detective novels with protagonist Petra Delicado. Biography Her first novel, ''Exit'' was published in 1984. In 1997, she published ''Una habitación ajena'' (''A Faraway room'' in English) concerning the tensions between the lesbian writer Virginia Woolf and her servant "Nelly", and this won her the Premio Femenino Singular. The Petra Delicado novels have been published in various languages and are very popular in Germany and Italy. In 1999 Petra Delicado appeared as the protagonist of a television series. Four of her novels have been used for an Italian TV four-part series: ''Petra'', first broadcast in September 2020. In 2011 Bartlett won the Premio Nadal for ''Donde nadie te encuentre''. Penectomy is penis removal through surgery, generally for medical or personal reasons. Medical reasons for penectomy Cancer, for example, sometimes necessitates removal of part or all of the penis. The Skoptsy ( rus, скопцы, p=skɐpˈtsɨ; "eunuch") were a sect within the larger Spiritual Christianity movement in the Russian Empire, best known for practicing castration of men and the mastectomy of women in accordance with their teachings against sexual lust. The term is a descriptive one used by the official Russian Orthodox Church. The movement emerged in the late 18th century.
