Peter Scott
Sir Peter Markham Scott, (14 September 1909 – 29 August 1989) was a British ornithologist, conservationist, painter, naval officer, broadcaster and sportsman. The only child of Antarctic explorer Robert Falcon Scott, he took an interest in observing and shooting wildfowl at a young age and later took to their breeding. He established the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust in Slimbridge in 1946 and helped found the World Wide Fund for Nature, the logo of which he designed. He was a yachting enthusiast from an early age and took up gliding in mid-life. He was part of the UK team for the 1936 Summer Olympics and won a bronze medal in sailing. He was knighted in 1973 for his work in conservation of wild animals and was also a recipient of the WWF Gold Medal and the J. Paul Getty Prize. Peter Scott (footballer, Born 1963)
Peter Scott (born 1 October 1963) is an English former footballer who played for Fulham for most of his career, and also represented AFC Bournemouth and Barnet in league football. In eleven years at Fulham, he made over 300 appearances including 277 in the league and scored 34 goals across all competitions. He moved to Bournemouth in 1992, playing 10 times in the league without getting on the scoresheet, and fourteen matches in total. He next joined Barnet in 1993, spending three years there until 1996, notching two goals in 78 league games. He also went on to play for Hayes briefly and ended his career playing part-time with Aylesbury United. Since retirement, Scott has remained involved in football, gaining his coaching badges and taking up a position at Uxbridge College in 2007, running their football development programme in conjunction with Yeading F.C. and Aylesbury F.C. Peter Scott (rugby Union)
Peter Robert Ian Scott (born 1 January 1940) is an Australian former rugby union international. Scott was born in Bombay and raised in Canberra, attending Telopea Park Secondary School. A Canberra Royals centre, Scott was a renowned goal-kicker in ACT rugby. He was a representative player for the ACT, NSW and NSW Country. His role in a win for New South Wales over the visiting All Blacks in 1962 saw him selected by the Wallabies for the 1st Test in Brisbane, as outside centre. He kept his place for the 2nd Test in Sydney. Scott's younger brother Gordon was the first Eastern Suburbs player to appear in 300 grade games. Peter Scott (born 19 January 1997) is an English field hockey player who plays as a midfielder or forward for Wimbledon and the England national team. Club career Scott plays club hockey in the Men's England Hockey League Premier Division for Wimbledon, whom he joined from Reading for the 2020-21 season. Peter Scott (born 27 November 1990) is an alpine skier from South Africa. He was part of the 2010 Winter Olympics team of South Africa, participating in the men's giant slalom competition. He trains at Peyragudes Ski Club in France. Scott was born in Cape Town. His family moved to France when he was nine years old. There, he took up skiing, and his family later moved to Gazave, in the Pyrenees so he "could do more training and racing". Peter Scott (born 9 September 1973) is an Australian sprint canoeist who competed in the late 1990s and early 2000s (decade). He won a bronze medal in the K-4 1000 m event at the 1997 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Dartmouth. Peter Marriott Raleigh Scott (1 February 1912 – 13 June 1944) was an English first-class cricketer and British Army officer. The son of Thomas Gilbert Scott, he was born at Marylebone in February 1912. His relatives included his brother Robert, grandfather Charles Marriott and great-uncle George Marriott. He was educated at Winchester College, before going up to Magdalen College, Oxford to study law. While studying at Oxford, he played first-class cricket for Oxford University in 1932 and 1933, making five appearances. Scott scored 114 runs in his five matches, at an average of 16.28 and a high score of 37. With his left-arm fast bowling, he took 5 wickets with best figures of 2 for 22. Peter James Scott (born 20 November 1982) is an English cricketer. Scott is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He was born in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire. Scott represented the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board in a single List A match against Bedfordshire in the 1st round of the 2001 Cheltenham & Gloucester Trophy. In his only List A match he took a single wicket at a cost of 28 runs. In 2004, he made his Minor Counties Championship debut for Staffordshire against Bedfordshire. Scott played 2 further Championship matches for the county, against Norfolk in 2004 and Hertfordshire in 2005. Scott joined Herefordshire in 2006, representing the county in 6 Championship matches during that season, the last of which came against Cornwall. Peter William Scott (born 19 September 1952 in Liverpool, England) is an English-born Northern Irish former footballer. He represented England at Youth level and Northern Ireland at full international level, making a total of 10 appearances for the team. Career Scott served his apprenticeship with Everton and signed full-time professional terms with the club in July 1970. He made his First Division debut in the 1971–72 season. He joined Southport on loan in January 1974 and made four league appearances for the club. He joined York City for a fee in the region of £11,000 in December 1975, after making 44 appearances and scoring one goal in the league for Everton. He made a total of 114 appearances and scored three goals for the club, and was their most capped player after making seven appearances for Northern Ireland whilst with them. Peter Cameron Scott (1867–1896) was a Scottish-American missionary and founder of Africa Inland Mission the front runner of Africa Inland Church . Biography Scott was born to a Christian family in Glasgow, which later migrated to the United States and settled in Philadelphia. However, at the age of twenty, due to poor health his doctor advised him to change climates and returned to Scotland to recover. It was in Glasgow that he visited the grave of his sister, considered his own death, and dedicated his life to Christian work. He served two years in the French Congo before returning to Britain in 1892 because of a near-fatal illness. While recuperating, he developed his idea of establishing a network of mission stations that would stretch from the southeast coast of Africa to Lake Chad. Peter Scott (born Peter Craig Gulston) (18 February 193117 March 2013) was an Irish burglar and thief who was variously described as the "King of the Cat Burglars", "Burglar to the Stars" and the "Human Fly". Scott described himself as a "master idiot". Life Scott was born Peter Craig Gulston in Belfast, Northern Ireland, into a middle-class military family. Following his father's death, his mother emigrated to the United States. He had spent his father's inheritance by the time that he left the Belfast Royal Academy. The 1965 film ''He Who Rides a Tiger'', starring Tom Bell and Judi Dench, was made about Scott's exploits.
