Peter Scott (rugby Union)
Peter Robert Ian Scott (born 1 January 1940) is an Australian former rugby union international. Scott was born in Bombay and raised in Canberra, attending Telopea Park Secondary School. A Canberra Royals centre, Scott was a renowned goal-kicker in ACT rugby. He was a representative player for the ACT, NSW and NSW Country. His role in a win for New South Wales over the visiting All Blacks in 1962 saw him selected by the Wallabies for the 1st Test in Brisbane, as outside centre. He kept his place for the 2nd Test in Sydney. Scott's younger brother Gordon was the first Eastern Suburbs player to appear in 300 grade games. Rugby union, commonly known simply as rugby, is a close-contact team sport that originated at Rugby School in the first half of the 19th century. The Canberra Royals Rugby Football Club is an Australian rugby union club, based in Canberra. Club history Canberra Royals has a proud tradition and identifies closely with the Royals Foundation Team of 1949. Our current Club Patron is life member, John Kelsey. Australia National Rugby Union Team
The Australia national rugby union team, nicknamed the Wallabies, is the representative national team in the sport of rugby union for the nation of Australia. The team first played at Sydney in 1899, winning their first test match against the touring British Isles team. Australia have competed in all nine Rugby World Cups, winning the final on two occasions and also finishing as runner-up twice. Australia beat England at Twickenham in the final of the 1991 Rugby World Cup and won again in 1999 at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff when their opponents in the final were France. Eastern Suburbs RUFC (Canberra)
The Eastern Suburbs Rugby Union Club Canberra, based out of Griffith, Australian Capital Territory, was founded in 1938. Easts compete in the first division of the ACTRU competition since 2020, having been unable to field teams in the John I Dent Cup, the highest level rugby competition in the region. History Easts are one of A.C.T rugby's foundation clubs. They were once affiliated with the RMC Duntroon Rugby Club. RMC provided Easts with a great deal of rugby talent, which dramatically increased the capacity of Easts to turn out competitive sides on a weekly basis. In the mid-1980s, the RMC rugby fraternity split from the Easts to establish itself as an independent entity. RMC now compete in the ACT Division 1 competition.
